Mainly the Chadwick 2. Seems cool. Thinkin about pickin one up. Playin punk with it. Dont need uber metal gain. I am worried about the resale. Ive heard Kranks are kinda hard to get rid of. Whats the general opinion of the chadwick?

Im looking for this type of tone - with more bottom end.

I know alot of people bust on this amp, but I saw a Revolution (I think it was a Revolution) at my local GC. So I decided to see how bad it was. Well it wasn't bad at all.. I actually liked it. Only complaint was the presence control. You basically have to run it on like 1 or 2 at the most. Anything past that is like a swarm of bees. But with it dialed in with a good deal of mids and and the presence practically off it sounded really good.

I've only played the Revolution and I actually liked it. Sounded real good for metal stuff, but you really need to keep the treble and presence down or it just turns into sizzling bacon.

Yeah fuck it. This the 3rd time ive had an opportunity to pick up a krank. I think ill give it a whirl. I just hope I can sell it if it doesnt work out for me. Im just so bored with my tone, playing, style etc. I need a change - bad

I had one of the orginal Kranskenteins, the 100w version, and I thought it kicked ass. I wound up trading it for an old 2 channel Dual Rectifier and I have to admit, I was happier with the krank. I have noticed for some odd reason people like to talk shit about these amps but I thought the parametric sweep knob on that amp was wicked as hell, that's the most clearly defined metal tone I've ever had. It did have to have the volume cranked up on it a little though to get some good results. Either way I wish I would've kept it

ive never played one, never had the chance really. but this makes me at least want to give it a whirl. because im also not a huge mesa fan either.

thanks to the OP for posting this

I had a Revolution head for a long time and I really liked it. the presense control is a little tricky but once you get the hang of it your off to the races.

Their Rev cabs are GREAT.

Go for it!! Trust me my Man.....everytime I get a new amp/guitar in......instant Motivation and we always play some NEW TUNES! Some amps more motivation then others.....but all my amps have been a positive thing for that.
You cant go wrong. Especially if your in a rut.

I have a revolution that kicks ass, i played it as my number one for five years.

I prefer the rev to the stein; if I am going to SS boost id rather choose the boost and its parameters myself.

The presence knob needs to be low as everyone has said and I wouldn't recommend turning the treble or sweep up to ten either. It is a versatile head and the clean channel is clean as can be.

high quality component set inside, orange drop caps and metal film resistors. chassis mounted pots and tubes.

I'm not sure why so much hate for these amps??? After all it is a mutant JCM800.

take it from me they are hard to flip.

I cant find anyone interested in trading with me for another high gainer yet my amp is in great condition and has a upgraded Mercury Magnetics OT. Im not even looking to sell it I just want to trade for an amp I haven't played before that is comparable.

I get a lot of interest and then I get: "my friend said they suck", "this internet post I found said krank are nazi's" etc..

No one ever says I played/heard it and its not for me.

I had a similar issue trying to trade mine too, I had it listed for like 3-4 weeks before I traded for the DR. I liked the presence up on mine around 6 or 7 but I think it really depends on the sweep knob that was on it. It's like they worked together so you could turn both and get a lot of options. I never turned the treble up past like 6 or so for fear of permanently losing my hearing

I really like the Revolution...Great sounding amp if you take the time and fugure out the sweep control. Big and ballsy and a good clean channel too.

Ive seen him often on the krank forum you can look there...

I heard the Krank forum really sucks. My friends said it was not for me so I do not visit.

I played a Revolution in a GC and depending on the sweep knob location it went from can of bees to a pretty decent tone.

I think most of the hate for Krank comes from their business practices when they first started out and the HCAF/HC Reviews debacle.

I personally can't stand how their amps sound, but I've played through a couple of their cabs and found no reason to turn my nose up at them.

Thats it. I cant take it anymore. Im takin the plunge. Goin Krank Baby

Hell Yes!! Now your talking!

Dont overthink.

Just jump and grab that bad boy!

Expect some good reviews when you get it! :D
