Thinking about a retube for my recently repaired 5150 II.
I never got to try the TAD 6L6GC-STR so I thought I might give it a go this time around. Any opinions on the TAD? They would be matched up with Tung-Sol reissues in V1 through V5 and a Sovtek LPS in the PI slot.

I've been wanting to try these for a long time, but every time I'm due for a re-tube, I just go with Mesas as they sound great and I can get them locally. Maybe next time I'll try TAD's....

I've tried TAD 6L6GC-STR, 6L6 Winged =C='s and JJ 6L6GC's. The TAD are less forward than the other two however they have a warmth the others lack.

I like the TAD 6L6GC-STRs, they don't sound as warm to my ears as the =C= 6L6's, but they do sound good. I prefer them slightly to the JJ 6L6GC's. My main complaint with the JJ's is that they didn't last very long.
