well I loads of Metal..brutal ass metal, I play in drop tuning.. B and A#.. im looking for a bareknuckle pickup that will sound brutal with my 6505 head.. if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.... thanks

There are different shades of brutality, you know.

If you want clarity, djentiness and fast attack - go Aftermath.
I settled for a Alnico Warpig, because I like my tone fat and rich. It's still superbly sharp though, note separation is awesome! And I play in Drop B.

okay well i think im going to go for the aftermath.. i have 3 guitars one has a EMG81 other has a GFS crunchy rails, and my new one is stock.. and im wanting to put the Bare knuckles aftermath in it.. or something by Seymour Duncan.. which SD pickup is the best for Brutal metal.. drop tuning and chugging.. thanks

I personally love sd distortion pick ups. One of my favorite pick ups .... But the aftermath has more clarity and note definition.

I just labored for months over this very question...I just ordered an Aftermath today for my Gibson GothicLP- I typically keep that axe in drop C. I have MMans in a 7string (dropA) and they kick ass, but always curious. LOL, if I had to do it again, I might want the reverse, the more mids of the Aftermath make the low notes jump out I'm sure

Is ass metal a new sub-genre?
why yes it is..

okay well where can i order some bare knuckle aftermath at???

Warpigs are awesome especially if you are a tight player. My brother and I are really tight rhythm players and I think the Wirpig, which is slightly looser and darker than some of the other BKPs, is awesome. I think an aftermath would be too tight especially since we play through VHTs. The Warpig seems to work well with the supertight and somewhat dry VHT.

I have Painkillers in a Les Paul Custom and they are pretty aggressive and tight, I also have a nailbomb which I love. That pickup is a little less aggressive, more open, and more organic sounding. I like them all, but my SG that I just put the Warpig in is sounding really massive through the VHT CLX.

i would be putting it in a PRS se singlecut.. playing through a 6505 head.. cab loaded with wgs 2 reaper 30's and 2 et65..
