Ebay: WTF is with the sudden use/abuse of the condition "New/Other" of late? This applies to everyone, not just dealers. Private sellers do it to no end, of late as well? Then go on to state, minus dings, scratches, cracks, it's basically new.. WTF?

Reverb, many sellers list used shit at new prices! I know this is old news, but WTF? Then, they list shit MINT, then, go on to list cracked headstocks, parts missing, dings, dents, scratches, etc. Sorry folks, but even minuscule scratches, small dings, minor use, negates mint condition!

Dealers, and their B-stock/returned items listed "New". Again, WTF? I wish Reverb would crack down on this crap. If they list an item as new, list it at new price, don't go on about play wear from being returned. List the fucking thing as used!

This is the same as any problem in the world. If you want reverb to "crack down" on it, prepare for fees to go up. The more you police, the more you pay...

TBH I don't even look at the new/used data on anything I buy. I have a price I am willing to pay for any item, I don't care if it is new/used etc. Typically speaking, new items rarely fall under my price ceiling and if I am looking for something specifically to be new I go to sweetwater or a reputable dealer who lists on reverb. In the end, if you got what you want at a price you are willing to pay, the new/used argument is pretty irrelevant...

Now if you received something other than what you bought/paid for at the price you were willing to pay, that is an issue...

I returned a Mayones Duvell Elite to a popular online store after about a month due to several issues with the guitar. I was a bit shocked when I saw it listed back up on their site and Reverb as "brand new".

Here's they're description: "This Mayones Duvell Elite 6 is brand new, in pristine mint condition, with absolutely no nicks, scratches, or blemishes of any kind and is being sold by an authorized dealer."

  Scumbags.

Ha! Sounds like Axe Palace! They sold me a "new" Engl Fireball that arrived in a Mesa box, no manual, no power chord, and obvious signs off use. They took it back, and relisted it, you guessed it, "brand new".

I've dealt with the Axe Palace before, and it was a nightmare. The owner is an egotistical lying sack of shit. I eventually got my money back, but what an epic waste of 3-4 months battling back and forth.
