Did anybody compare Burstbuckers with Burstbucker Pros?

And BurstBucker Pro™ pickups are wax potted so that they can withstand loud volume pressures without annoying feedback.

I have a set of BurstBuckers & I dig the tone, but they have that annoying feedback problem, especially the one in bridge. Do pros really fix that problem & do they have the original tone of BurstBuckers?

yeah, the 500T that came in my lp classic would feedback all the time :doh:

i'd like to put some new pick-ups in it but i don't know what i want yet

The Burstbuckers and the Burstbucker Pros dont sound the same. The Pro's dont squeel as much as the original Burstbucker 1/2/3's but they definitly dont sound the same IMO.

I think the Pros sound better. I didn't like the regular burstbuckers that came in either of my historics, but I thought the pros sounded pretty good. They're also wax potted so they don't squeel.

IMHO, if you're going to spend that much on a PAF clone type pickup there are a lot better choices out there, like Voodoo, or Wolfetone.

They may be potted now I don't know, they weren't in my '02 or '03 but I haven't seen any since then.

The pros do seem a little hotter and brighter, but they only read like 8.3, so it must be the difference in the Alnico V vs Alnico 2 or 3 magnets in the BB's?

I have burstbucker pro 1 and 2's in one of my Les Pauls. I think they are potted. I don't notice any feedback issues or squeeling and they sound pretty darn good.

You can always wax pot the pickups, its not that hard of a process, just takes some time to get the parts together (double boiler, parafin wax, thermometer, etc)

I've got 57s, 490/498Ts, Burstbuckers, EMG81s & Duncan59/JBs. What paf like pickup would you recommend to switch the burstbucker bridge with?

I have burstbucker pro 1 and 2's in one of my Les Pauls. I think they are potted. I don't notice any feedback issues or squeeling and they sound pretty darn good.

I don't have any squeeling unless I switch to the 3rd channel herbert or xtc, that's when it begins.

Did anybody compare Burstbuckers with Burstbucker Pros?
