Sounds great man, nothing wrong with that 210H's tone.

I managed to snag a mint JVM 210H off ebay over the weekend, specifically for the purpose of modding it out.
I have had 2 of these amps before, and I liked the basic voicing, but in the end, couldn't get along with it enough to keep it.
My gripes (which seem to be standard for this head)
OD Orange and red are too noisy
There is too much gain on orange and red OD channels
The amp is sterile and solid state sounding when turned up to gigging volume
Brittle high end and lacking a general fullness.
I know there are mods out there that are supposed to combat this, but didn't know if anyone around here had completed them with good results?
Let me know of any feedback or experience regarding modifying the JVM series
the JVM Forum looks like it's gone
these are the mods I had done to my 210H and it made the amp a real "keeper" no hiss, rounder
and thicker mids and the NF pot was just the best, it really lets you open up the amp and '"decompress it".
The guy I sold it to has a stock 410 and wanted to mod it
and when he played thought mine he just bought it, he couldn't believe I had literally zero hiss in OD orange even with the gain at 2:00
We should sticky these somewhere as IMO they are absolute must have mods if you're are having noise issues.
#1 Lower gain on OD1 -Gain Reduction Mod
100k metal film resistor across R128
or a 500k No load pot piggy backed across R128
negative Feedback Mod
Replace R58 with a 47k resistor or
replace R58 with a 33k resistor wired in series with a 1m log pot.
Plexi Mod
1Uf capacitor in parallel with R97
OD2 to OD1 mod
Change R44 from 47k to 33k
- Change C31 from 1n5 to 1n0 (.001 ufd)
- Change C32 from 1n0 to 3n3 (.0033 ufd)
yes but you don't need the Od2 to OD1 mod unless you want both OD channels voiced the same.@kmanick will those mods work properly on a 410H?
I believe it , My Splawn totally buried my JVM. My bandmates were always telling me to turn up with the JVM, not so with the Splawn. I think the JVM is great in a one guitar band , with 2 you can hear how compressed it is and it gets buried easily. I loved it (I had it as my main amp for 8 years) but when I started jamming with bands again 2 years ago , it got a little frustrating if I was playing with another guitarist.Man i dont mean to piss in the punch; but i had a jvm210, jcm800, and a dsl100, at the same time, and the jvm just got bullied by those two. The 800 was a 2204, and could just bury it in the room, and the dsl, boosted, was a surprisingly good death metal amp.

This is without doubt the best sounding modded JVM clip I have ever heard - playing starts at 3:50. Negative feedback mod and MM iron along with what the tech calls the ‘Plexi’ mod. If I could get an amp that sounds like this...
Thanks man!yes but you don't need the Od2 to OD1 mod unless you want both OD channels voiced the same.
where the hell do i find this mod?? thanksWell the first mod I would do is change the OD Channel to the same specs as OD1 on the JVM 410. That's the high gain modded Marshall sound. OD1 Amber on the 410 is pure 800 crunch slammed with a pedal type sound. OD1 Amber is the main reason I own the amp. And unlike from a poster above, I love the effects loop. OD1 Red, is just over the top Marshall voiced high gain. Crazy levels of gain.
The OD channel on the 210 is voiced from OD2 on the JVM 410 with the lower mid more modern Boogie (ish) tone. I never use OD2, in fact I've long wanted to mod OD2 on my amp to OD1 so I could have two different OD1 Amber channels and use different gain settings. Anyway that's the mod I would start with, once you do that then if you still need the mods, go from there.
I've wanted to get a JVM 205 just for the lower wattage but I've got other things to knock out on the want list before trying to find a good deal on a 205 and then have the OD channel modded to the 410 OD1.
Just my opinion though.
I had a choke added to my JVM 205H and had the lead channel modded to the JVM 410H's non-scooped lead channel specs. I got the OD2 to OD1 conversion info from the Marshall JVM Forum and then had Jeff Snider from Snider Amplification do the mod work. After the conversion the OD1 Orange mode was my favorite.I managed to snag a mint JVM 210H off ebay over the weekend, specifically for the purpose of modding it out.
