Ive started threads this year about CL guitars and amp drying up but the last 2 months ive been doing 1000 mile searches and guitars & amps have just disappeared.
When i say "guitars & amps" i mean nice Gibson & Marshall type amps.
Plenty of $300 guitars everywhere.
Are people hoarding gear or does it just not exist anymore ?
Lemme guess its reverb or nothing now ?

Craigslist is pretty much dead now. In my area it's the same stuff re-listed over and over for months/years. Most people moved to Facebook Marketplace for that stuff it seems like, which sucks because I have not had a facebook account in 10 years.

You can find pretty much anything you want reverb eBay Craigslist local stores and more. The question is more like what are you willing to pay.
Seems certain amps have gone to stupid levels price wise. Same for guitars.
For example I’ve owned lots of Ibanez Jems over the years. Cool guitars but back when they were relatively new 800-1200 in excellent condition. Now the older models going for crazy prices.
Mesa MKII C+ amps. Crazy prices.
It’s supply and demand.

During this home solitary confinement over the last year and a half lots of people have free time looking for deals. I had a Original block letter EVH I paid 700.00 with a cabinet. Really wasn’t playing it sold the head on reverb for close to 1900 ?‍♂️

Some collect some play. Myself if it’s collecting dust it gets sold or traded. Having said that there are a few amps I love that get frequent use I won’t sell because if I ever want to replace it it’s going to cost way more than I paid for it.

Local craigslist has SOME decent gear but it's all at the current overblown pricing. There's a VH140 Ampeg but they want 800. A 72 Pulsonic cab with a cut in the cone of one and he advertises it was "on purpose"....ok...still wants 2K for it. With that logic my 72 cab is worth 5K. One decent deal is an 83 2204 for 1500. No tolex though.

Yesterday I saw a local CL ad for a 03 Gibson DC for $1250, today when I looked it was raised to $1550- which... I don't know....is still a decent price if in very good condition?

If it's one of the 24 fret ones it is

Last night, I actually dug through our CL listings for the first time in years. There was quite a bit of Mesa stuff on there, which is surprising since I live in the boonies. Found a few various Subways Blues/22 Caliber amps, a couple multi-watt Rectos, and a pile of Mark V 25’s.

The only cool thing I saw was a Mark IIB combo (w/ eq) for $1300. I don’t know what they usually go for, but it was in pretty rough shape. I figured it probably wasn’t worth it since it would likely need to go back to Mesa for service and a refurb.

I have to not look at Craigslist or FB market cause there’s so much stuff
