It will be paired with some kind of mesa eventually. He has a road armored avatar with v30's and I'll probably grab one of the marshalls with 75's just to have a different flavor. hell I don't know...dude runs a concert backline company....he says now everyone is running modelers and he's investing in Freidman powered wedges....
I highly recommend you pick up the cab. If you don’t like it I’m sure you’ll have no problem moving it. Cardinal has a bunch of cabs for sale; his 2 with 65s went quick.

I had a cab full of them and the mids of those speakers DO NOT play nice with SLO style amps, so mesas, 5150s, and soldanos. I couldn’t sell that cab fast enough.

I use reissue G12Ms.
My experience is the opposite. Many people including myself think G12 65 pair great with the SLO as well as Marshalls. They did sound a bit dark for my Boogies and Bogners which did better with V30s and Greenbacks.... to each his own..

Like Racerxrated said, the cones are very important … the 444’s are dark and muddy.

I absolutely LOVE my 1980 Marshall cab with the speakers I posted in the picture in this thread. they are T3120 codes 16ohm with 1777 cones.
Best thing, like Matt said, if you can try out the cabinet that’s always the best scenario?
Hope all you guys are having a great weekend,

I bought that head and cab brand new. It had 75s. Cool that yours had ev though.

I have both versions, 55hz and 75hz cones. They both sound great IMHO. Slightly different but no more different than slant vs straight. It's not night and day difference. Anyway I like both. Both work great with my SLO, 2203 and Dual Rectifier rev G. I do prefer the oversized Mesa cab (V30) with the recto though. It sounds more "rectoish", classic 90s recto tone with it, which is kinda expected.

I did too brother...that's crazy...I thought they all had ev's right?

This one is really confusing me. I remember buying the head and cab and it was clearly 75s. So now I am wondering if there was an upgraded version or not. Did you have a straight or slant? Mine was slant.

Can you take a pic of the back jack plate with the writing? Does it say 300w and a normal 2 input jack? Mine and all of the others I have seen are just jcm A slant cabs. I think it even says 1960A and 300w power.

Here is a link to what I had basically. This has 75s.

dude that was eons ago. no pics....they all came with ev's, that was his thing. as far as I know anyway. That's it...but the speakers were swapped. Had to be. I'm confused too...

Keep in mind, that you have to rewire these cabs with 8-guage copper solid.

Night and day!
