I've had it with shipping companies man-handling packages like bloody apes!

This is exactly why i pack guitars and amps "ridiculously."

I'd rather it takes them a half hour to unpack it, and have it arrive safe and sound.
Best move to make. It's worth the inconvenience/hassle/time spent to pack it like a champion. Peace of mind for both yourself and the person on the other side of the deal. I always pack the stuff I sell like how I would want it to be packed if I was the one buying it.

Tell that one to the FedEx driver who literally threw my ENGL Inferno on the driveway right in front of me as I was reaching to take it from him. Thank goodness there was no damage since I bought it new and was sealed and secured well in the factory packing.
I just got a new Fryette FatBottom 4x12 cab a few weeks ago, which was delivered by FedEx. FedEx driver pulls up and puts (or dropped, who knows, I didn't witness that part) the box on the ground and started rolling the box on the concrete towards my front door. Dude literally thought that was a better idea to do a tire flip-style workout with my brand new cab than to just ring the bell and get me out there to help him carry it over. I happened to walk by and look out my window as he was in the midst of that. Immediately ran out to help him carry it over the rest of the way to the door. Box had been busted up only on the front side, but the cab managed to be totally unscathed, thankfully.

Honestly never had an issue with UPS so far, maybe I'm lucky. Pretty much by default go with them anyway and I never really bothered with FedEx prior to this. I've also heard way more complaints/horror stories over the past few years from people's experiences with FedEx primarily. So when the cab finally shipped and I saw that GC sent it out with FedEx, I was already a bit wary. I know a 4x12 cab is heavy, but I certainly didn't expect FedEx to have a CrossFit session with my package lol.

It's true. I used to work for UPS loading trucks in the 90s and can only imagine how it is now.

I have seen people launching boxes as hard as they can across the back of the truck, I have seen people literally jump in the air and 2 foot stomp packages and I have seen people open packages and steal items. I've pretty much seen it all and it really just comes down to who is handling your package.

By default their process is to damage packages. It sounds weird but it is true, the loaders job is to cram as much shit in a truck as humanly possible.

They train you to load trucks by first building a 4 foot wall like 5 feet from the end of the truck, then toss every other package over the wall to fill the area, when that is full you finish stacking the wall and then build another, throwing packages over the wall. I am not making this up, UPS literally trains the employees to throw shit.

I guess it doesn't matter how packages are treated when motherfuckers ship $300 pedals packaged like this. Fucking unreal.

I pulled a brief stint with UPS in the early 90's during Thanksgiving and Christmas. I was the "feeder man". They backed the trailer to the belt head. Then I started slinging boxes. 1st truck I got to the end and told the supervisor I was ready for another. He laughed and informed me I was only halfway finished...and proceeded to lift a floor panel exposing boxes. On peak day I unloaded 7.5 trailers by myself in 3 or 3.5 hours. Fuck UPS....

Wow I’ve never received a pedal that way before and I’ve bought many 100’s over the years. Even $20 used pedals from guitar center never came to me like that

WOW! that's freaking ridiculous. Between shit packing and shipping companies beating the fuck out of packages its a wonder how anything arrives intact anymore.

You just never know with these things. I had 2 years ago an amp delivered to me (that would be worth around $5,000 or so these days) that was terribly packed and the USPS guy (yes he used usps on this amp) literally dropped it at least 4ft on my stone floor in front of my porch (didn’t ask for a signature either) and the amp was totally unscathed by any of it somehow. But then have had some issues occasionally with amps delivered that were very solidly packed

This pedal has dipswitches and shit on back too, a lot of moving parts. It works and everything is good but man...buy a fucking .50 cent newspaper and crumble that shit up or do something

Honestly, I think they do it on purpose knowing fully well what it is. There are sick people out there that take pleasure in ruining other peoples stuff.
And even get off on long drawn out claims WTH super high def pics and all that crock a poop.

People=Shit

Dude, I just had a nasty duel with my local postmaster.
What a bunch of angry, intentionally unhelpful, bitter ogre’s of an organization.
I finally radically accepted what
“Going postal” really means.
They’re so fed up with their occupations, they cannot get fired and are represented by a Steward and will likely get some form of compensation out of anything you try to do, so they get off with this like “gritting & drueling”, like everybody’s a damn Maud.
Talk about “Institutionalized”.

I know it sucks! I’ve had similar experiences like that with those guys
