I think we should have a contest.. let’s all list any random item at some insane price and see who either gets a messsge from or thread started about said item from mooncobra first. We can call it “The Cobra Trap”. Maybe we could all donate $1 to the prize fund and the winner takes all

A grand? People are really stupid. You could buy the ODR for about $40 shipped just 10 or 15 years ago. Some clones of the ODR where more popular than the ODR. People bought them when they couldn't afford a TS9/808. I do like the ODR circuit more than your typical TS but come on. People have more money than sense. I'll never understand all that underwhelming worship guitar bs and the nashville/influencer crowd.

I just sold one of these in silver. Paid $40 for it 20 years ago. Listed on Reverb for $500. Accepted an offer of $350 the same day.

They are an awesome pedal but the Bonsai does it and the wampler belle does it with a few more options. There are likely a bunch of japanese copies as well. At volume you aren't really going to notice the difference anyway and nobody ever sticks with one OD ..they are always rediscovering old pedals and having a hallelujah moment. This time I've finally found my tone!!!!! .... until next month. George Lynch syndrome. We all have it.

14,000$ CAD lol. Imagine I bought that thing, paid the tax on it ( 1,820$) and told my wife I drained part of our emergency fund for a pedal that would probably be no better than what I already have? She'd love that. Sorry kids, no Disney land this year, daddy spent 15k on a pedal he won't use.

You can build a clone of it for around $100

If you're not buying a kit from a single source and decide to build it from scratch you can build probably five clones for about $100.
Wow, I’ve never even heard of that pedal. Somehow I feel like I’m not missing much either.
Nobels weren't even that well known in Germany. They sold some MIDI stuff, ABY switchers and some effects including a few ODR variants. Now there are idiots paying up to a grand for a pedal that some 14 year old bought alongside with some cheap Digitech or Danelectro pedals when he couldn't afford a TS808.. because some guy on YouTube said so? Probably should've kept the Nobels stuff for idiots with big wallets.

I remember seeing these sitting in local shops for like $50 back in the day and nobody wanted them. I am guessing "popular youtuber of the week" said they are good, so now all the sycophants and trend buyers are jumping like dogs.

i tell guys all the time that all it takes is one youtuber to do a video and thats it. JHS used to do the best $50 pedal videos and literally 20 minutes after those pedals were now $300. even five years ago before everyone had a channel this would never happen. prices are never coming down to previous levels again like some people seem to be hoping and waiting for.
