Loved their new one with Steve Vai. I respect the fact they are doing something interesting and new. Cool tones too.

Funny how the people who hate them, will praise folks like EVH for them changing the guitar landscape with new techniques and sounds. Kids now are picking up the guitar and trying new things just like EVH, but for some reason it's bad now. These kids will inspire the new generation to pick up the guitar. None of the gate keeping haters are inspiring anyone.

I am in awe of what the Polyphia dudes are doing on the guitar. There are others, but Polyphia specifically is awesome.

I think what makes this generation of guitar different from 40 years ago - guitar has evolved more into a percussive instrument than a lead/rhythm instrument. Or maybe a blend is more accurate. Either way the benchmark for proficiency keeps rising, and that's a good thing.

That's because what these kids are trying is comparable to Fortnite and soylent. Just because someone does something new doesn't make it automatically good.

Don't listen to these hater / boomers. :poop:

They're just freaked out that the main dude there looks like he's transitioning into a sun-deprived, body-dysmorphic teenage girl with horrible neck tattoos.

The fact that you can't dance to any of their music is a real put-off to those old dudes too.

Are you implying that all of this is something to be praised of?

I find this very interesting. I love great guitar in anything . You ever watch Nuno play live with Rhianna ?

And you are the universal objective source for what constitutes "good"?

Hahahaha. Silly haters are never consistent. Looking like a chick and playing technical guitar was totally fine in the 80s. Funny now the logic is never consistent with gatekeepers.

Never heard of Chino, yes I live under a rock. I'm old enough to qualify for @ghosty999 group of people but I'm not like that at all. I love the fact they they are doing something fresh/different even if I don't always get it. I like Polyphia and this song is good.

I also remember when I was young, many of the things I did and my appearance was a put off to a LOT of older people. So while I have zero tattoos for example, I think they can look cool as hell...on other people.

EDIT: I would totally do Alexis Van Helen.

well its like i aways say, put "new Lynch song" or whoever instead of whatever modern metal band and it would be praised as "lynch continuing to push the boundaries of guitar" or some bullshit, instead though its just a bunch of noise lol.

this song is ok, Polyphia tends to be a little too soft for me, the part at 2:12 for example should hit a lot harder than it does but its alright.

I love this!

That's a great point. Pissing of the older generation is very RockNRoll and it seems they are doing just that.

Damn right ! These oldsters just don't get it.

Polyphia rules !

"drek" is the new "rock".

I might be one of the most boomer bendiest players ever but I wasn't offended by Henson's coining of that term. I think its funny. It is what it is...it might be the only thing I do decent on guitar. :ROFLMAO:

I'm glad Steve Vai jumped on one of their latest tracks to connect the old with the new. Steve has always had a keen eye for new talent and technique.
