One of the Things i always Notice within the Boomer Catagory is that, The Boomer saying " This sucks or that sucks" are usually just guys that are weekend warriors that can't play as well as the person/band they are hating on. Can they get close? Of course, but they will never be EVH,They will never truly be Vai or Hendrix or Lynch. They can Pretend or copy some of their style/licks but will never get all the way there. I also think that they will never be Scott Le Page. I Think it pisses them off that they have been playing for 30 years, 40 years or whatever & a "Kid" that's been playing maybe 10 years is better than them.
I don’t think someone’s playing level has to do with what they like or don’t like. I suck at guitar. Like, I can barely play, and fall under the guitarded category. If I was playing a well known riff, you would be totally baffled by what I was playing. I have the rare talent to make a popular riff totally unrecognizable! I actively start drooling because my concentration is so intense, just like everything else I do, I’m a very intense dude.
But, I like some polyphia songs and despise others. Henson looks like an anime character. Chicks dig him, I saw footage from a show, and I don’t know if other bands also played but there was a bunch of hot young chicks worshipping at the altar of Tim Henson. That dude is super busy winning right now.
I am super, super old, for I am now in my 40s, yes, yes, I know, I am rapidly hurdling towards my demise. Death is near. I do a lot of very hard living as well, I live fast, hard, and very, very intensely. Soon I will probably need a cane, hip and knee replacements, (solely from rocking as hard as I have, as well as partying balls throughout my youth) I even used to huff the hard weed until it made me feel my impending doom on the horizon, and I was forced to mentally master myself and intensely meet my demise head on. Before that I used to get power stoned, and then something changed.
So I am super, super old and very tattered, I huffed that hard weed until I was at least 20 or 21. I know, I know, really intense and hairy business.
I like some polyphia songs, in fact, I really, really like a few. I think Henson is a bad ass on guitar for sure. Even the other guitarist that he carry’s along is pretty good. But somewhere along the line Tim took the reigns and led the charge iinto and creating a new style of guitar. He is a true modern titan of guitar. But, some of their videos have made me cringe in embarrassment, but perhaps I can’t even comprehend their deep meaning, complex undertones and powerful nuances throughout the video, as they are drinking champagne while wearing super cool suits as hot chicks are fawning over them. They have profound looks of satisfaction, arrogance, and sinister intent on their handsome faces while nodding, “yes, yes, in fact, you have finally recognized what I am owed, I deserve this, and much more! I AM A MASTER OF THIS VERY UNIVERSE YOU IMMENSELY FOOLISH HUMANS! I no longer stand with you as I have evolved into something MORE. The other band members, not so much, still mortals.”
