NAD Suhr SE-100

I played around all day with the se and my 2203 blended together, and damn. That’s the tone. I dialed in the 2203 a bit on the brighter side with the gain low, and ran the se close to how I ran it in that clip. It is the perfect combo. Bright and clear while still having the chunky, tight gain from the se. I’ll post up some more clips tomorrow, I’ll also do another video comparing greenbacks to the v30’s and the m75 scumbacks I have as well. Hard to do any of that though because the amp is too addicting.
 
That clip has a lot of hair on it - congrats on your new amp. I only have one Suhr product (boost) but is high quality and John doesn't seem to have a lot baggage or drama surrounding him.

Crazy thing is that the gain was only on 3. I don’t do much more than 80’s so I’ll probably never run the gain higher than 5. John is a standup act from what interactions I’ve had with him. He knows his shit and he’s a straight shooter. He got fucked over a few times(Diamond amps, other people taking credit for his mods) but he doesn’t bring up the past ever. I assume you have the koko? Hell of a boost. I love it. Got his reactive load/ir too and it’s incredible. I’d like him to make a reamper and ir loader all in one box, but he doesn’t seem too interested at the time. Guess I’ll have to get a Fryette for the 2203.
 
and I forgot to mention, they’re sending me a replacement set of knobs for the amp at no charge to me at all! Ed in costumer relations is an awesome guy as well!

Do a clip with V30s and the Greenbacks. I have V30s but tend to choose the Greenbacks when I use IR in my Captor X. I also love the Surh 2x12 that Zach Wish uses and its got Creambacks. Not Greenbacks I know, I know, but close enough to make me want to compare.

Will do. I suppose I could get some creamback it’s and give it a shot.

And nahhh. I’ve been trying to replicate these two amps for over 10 years. If I need another amp besides a 2203 and this se to do anything I play, I need a bullet in the head because I’ve gone insane. Only thing I have left in the rig I want is a fractal or a cae 3+ and a switcher and line mixer to get everything working together.

Yes on Koko OG and yes I would be interested in a reamper/IR too.

So what happens when you turn the gain up further than where you had it on that clip? Does it stay in control or does it get pretty crazy?

We had it up to 7 running through g12H's yesterday, and with a little bit of a mid scoop, it got real close to Hetfields Marshall tones from KEA and Master. I'll Record some quick ir clips here in a min.
 
Botched the song, but close enough for quickly looking at the tab. Gain was on 7 and mids bumped down to 4. Into my 1960BV. MV is great on this amp, was set at 1 and was roughly 80db.

Just had a revelation. This amp sounds close to the be 100, only this has that whole raw wild thing going on vs the polished nature of the friedman.

That sounds great! Definitely captures the Green Day vibe. Do you, outta curiosity, have any clips of just the 2203 by itself?

Interesting you mentioned Green Day. A local guy contacted us recently and asked if we wanted to check out his Dookie modded JMP by Martin Golub. Pretty rare from what I can gather, especially down under. No matter what anyone thinks of their music, I reckon BJA has had pretty great tone for a few decades now.
