Stolen gear and next steps

Fuck I’d probably start vomiting if I was emptied out. A life’s worth of finding, restoring, and building some of the best gear on the planet. Much of my stuff is limited one offs that even with an insurance payout, I’m still likely not getting another.

I’m in the process of moving and I’m so paranoid that I’m not using a storage facility for my gear. I’m hauling it all out of state to family.
I remember driving my gear 30 hours to a family member for a cross country move.

Then had to turn right back and go get the family.

Lol the things we do for our gear. It was definitely the best option though for peace of mind.

Thieves are the worst. Theft is just getting worse and worse. I live in SF Bay Area and a lot of stores are closing down because of how bad the theft problem has become. Check it out. Full blown insanity. I know many people scared to go to Union square now.

Dumbest politicians on earth

I’ve been through being ripped off.
I got nearly all of it back.
The most valuable nugget I can give you is:

You’re gonna have to find your own ways
to skin the cat.

By posting where you’re looking for it,(example)
-they know YOUR location.

Pawn Shops?? HaHa, they’ll make YOU
buy it back from THEM.

Is the gear worth hiring a P.I.?

If pawn shops end up with property reported stolen don’t they have to give it to police?

Sorry to hear. Keep an eye on Offer-up, Craigslist, local Pawn Shops, Music Stores.

You could always go after the nearest scumbag…bust into their residence and attack them…threaten to do very bad things to them, after you have done bad things to them….find out who stole your stuff. Then set a trap for them by giving a druggie 50 bucks to set up a fake buy. Then when you catch them explain to them how badly you want your stuff back or next time there will be no talking, just lots of pain, then bask in satisfaction when they knock on your door with your stuff. Then later on you burn out the drug house where all the problems are coming from. Not saying you should do that but you could.

^ I like the way you think.

Even with a hefty insurance rider you would never be able to recreate your rig  :D: :(

Whoa, you’ve got it all planned out. You should film it and make a reality show called, “The Price is Pain.” In the trailer you could be setting up a cauldron of sulfuric acid, refueling your flame thrower, plugging in your bone saw, putting gloves on to handle some bunk acid, and taking filthy items out of a bag for the meth heads who have heightened OCD and an aversion to germs, as well as turning on your 100,000 watt stereo system blasting in-a-gadda-da-vida and also have a shrieking madman strapped to a chair rambling about his melting brain running out of his ears. Have indiscernible movements that could be animal or human moving in the darkness that only heighten the recipient of your justice to previously unrealized levels of fear and paranoia as the perpetrators eyes go back and forth between the frightening figures and movement in the dark, the shrieking strapped down madman, and your own lifeless dead eyes that he now realizes are the darkest most frightening thing in the entire gates of hell type situation.

Wasn’t planned, that’s how it went down step by step….the only thing I regret about it all was that my oldest son was there for part of it and I truly regret him seeing me like that. But I like how you tell a story. I will remember that in the future.

6CA7 has one thing going for him, these amps are not common. Ebay alerts, informing pawn shops, Reverb alerts and craigslist sweeps are going to throw a huge dragnet back to finding them. I would have to believe that any guitar shop that someone brought a modded Friedman in, the guy is going to start asking questions. I know I would. There's going to be some answers you better know and 99% of the low life fucks won't have a clue.

And contact Friedman….never know in the future if it gets sent in for service.

you actually did that!!?! Hahaha!! Where did they take your stuff from, rehearsal space, or the ultimate violation, your home!?

Stole my son’s dirt bike. It was the second time and no offense to our local police, it wasn’t a big deal to them. So I broke the law by taking the law into my own hands. It was almost like a law and order episode. Shit was off the chain…it’s a telephone story, to much to type.

I sent a fellow forumite a video of a device I rigged up to scare the shit out of someone in the middle of the night. Or blow off a head, arm or foot…depending on my situation. How’s the song go? Better not go up copperhead road…

The most obvious trap should always lead to a more important one.

Did the perpetrators seek retribution, and if not, how did you prevent it?

I was finally able to move out of California last October. I look back and it was like a bad nightmare.

What a shit hole
