EBMM YT Sig guitars

EBMM appears to be going for YT influencers for signature guitars; a few months ago, Rabea, and a few days ago, Fluff.

Good for them, but who's the target customer? :dunno:

In all reality, they probably have more of a chance of getting someone to buy a signature guitar than the 80's guys still around. These companies are fighting for views of their product and some of these guys get millions of views on every video.

Maybe they should allow custom orders and give everyone their own “signature.” Cool if you don’t want to resell.
sounds like the Kiesel model of semi-custom guitars?

@japetus I agree, social media influencers are doing as much or more than famous artists in marketing and selling gear. Guess I'm too old school for it

I have / had a few signature guitars because of the specs not the artist, such as '65 spec, Lennon Casino, Fender Marr Jag, etc., I also have a few sig guitars because I of ofther factors, such Schuldiner Stealth and Ibanez PS guitars,

Rabea is a helluva player, I can see why they gave him one.

I was watching Rob Arnold's (Chimaira) channel the other day and he mentioned something along these lines. I don't remember verbatim what he said, but ESP stopped producing his RA models due to his status as non-touring musician.

It seems companies are starting to shift from the traditional, "you gotta be on tour in front of 100's of faces every night to warrant a signature guitar".

They're in the business of selling guitars, so why not? I may not personally agree with whom they give a sig model to, but I'm old enough to know my opinion don't mean 💩. 🙃

@dooredge yes, social media influencers are having an impact on gear sales; companies are responding to it. Nothing wrong with it, I'll buy sig gear if I think it does what I want.

Let's not forget the Beato Sig; Rhett Shull has a sig amp, guitar and more too.

:dunno:
