This tone is always going to be amazing no matter what amps and tones happen . So great
I love spreading the disease too but ATL is my fav . It’s just another step forward. I’m listening to every anthrax album in order atmMan, I played the hell out of that when it came out and for a few years after - some great stuff on that album...ADI, Imitation Of Life, NFL. Spreading The Disease is my favorite of their albums but that's a close second.
May as well do this thread right...
My personal favorite Scott Ian tone is from the SOD live album. It's basically the same as his Anthrax tone but it comes across as rawer here:
All the 1980's stuff is. The real key to that tone is the Rola G12-80 55hz speakers.Among the living is an 800 with tc booster right ?

Mark 3’s for Danny Spitz’s lead tones only. Same speakers though.Indians has a major Mark series vibe. I don't really know their gear history - have II's or III's been mentioned over the years?
They used boogies for the solos . I know that spitz used them . But 800 with tc booster was Scott’s main rig at this pointIndians has a major Mark series vibe. I don't really know their gear history - have II's or III's been mentioned over the years?
Best Me to it I guess .Mark 3’s for Danny Spitz’s lead tones only. Same speakers though.
And that jackhammer of a picking hand! They used boogies for the solos . I know that spitz used them . But 800 with tc booster was Scott’s main rig at this point
Never knew what speakers they used. I tried a TC through a JMP, close but no cigar. All the 1980's stuff is. The real key to that tone is the Rola G12-80 55hz speakers.
I love all the bush albums too . They sometimes had some filler but got the most part were cool alt metslI met Scott and Frank a few months ago with my kid and was a bucketlist for me. Scott was cool but a bit more laid back but Frank was the best. Such a great guy and talked with us and was just a regular guy. We were walking away and was still joking with us. Was a great memory. That Anthrax sound is that palm mute chug, Frankie's fingers hitting those strings, badass Charlie drums and the unconventional voice that just works so well. Lifelong fan here. I did thr John Bush stuff too.
