If you rely on road pirates to show up in the middle of the night to save you and your family from someone trying to break into your home you are deluded. Where I live there’s no Leo’s working from roughly 8pm to 6am. But I have a different outlook on things than most people because of what I did for a career.

I always crack up when liberals think more guns laws will stop shootings LOL. Liberals love to make it sound like anybody can walk into a store and purchase a firearm and walk out 5 minutes later .

89% of Firearms Used in Crimes Were Obtained Illegally

So fucking what?

This bastard was part of the 11% who bought his guns legally:

"On October 1, 2017, a mass shooting occurred when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada from his 32nd-floor suites in the Mandalay Bay hotel. He fired more than 1,000 rounds, killing 60 people and wounding at least 413. The ensuing panic brought the total number of injured to approximately 867. About an hour later, he was found dead in his room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The motive for the shooting is officially undetermined."

Yep, I agree, Bro. We live in the mountains in a tiny village. Our stretch of mountains is about 20 miles long. We have 2 Sheriff's Deputies up here normally.

We're armed and will ventilate anyone who breaks into our home... if our dogs don't disembowel them first. Lots of us lefties own firearms and mean dogs.

We also have mountain lions, bears and coyotes up here. Mountain lions are usually a solo act unless they doing the mating dance, but last week up here someone's yard camera recorded THREE of them walking together. That's basically rare. When my wife gets home at night, she takes a good look around before exiting the car. Pro tip: don't go for a walk in the woods alone when the sky starts to light up before sunrise and at twilight. That's when the cats are most active and roaming. We live in a heavily wooded area, next to a National forest, so lots of critters here plus there's a creek around 100 yards from us where they like to drink.

A mountain lion makes a damn nice rug to put in front of the fireplace. They've been spotted a few miles down the road at my brothers place. I would definitely smoke one of those puppies for the coat alone if I come across one. Legal anytime of the year here. Unfortunately it looks like they are off limits for hunting in California, there's a surprise. Anything cool is banned in California. Here kitty kitty POW POW POW.

Same here except no mountain lions. Fuckin insurance companies brought in coyotes in the 80’s because of the deer claims. Now they’re thick. Lucky nobody has lost a kid to them yet. Not sure how that’s legal. Mountain lions are kinda 50/50. Down in the southern part of the state people swear they have seen them and the dnr has reintroduced them. I know elk have come across from ky into a couple counties. I hope the elk do well.

About 100 mountain lions are killed here every year. If they threaten or kill livestock or pets, then POW POW POW.

I heard that some geniuses in Wisconsin repopulated the northern woods with wolves. Idiots. I used to hike in those woods when I was a kid.

Fair enough. They are legal to take at any time using any lawful means here. I can't say I have a taste for big cat but I would definitely shoot one if I saw it. Feed the meat to my dogs and get a damn nice brain tanned rug out of the deal. I just bought my hunting license two days ago, should be in my mailbox this week. Definitely stocking the venison deep this year. It's great here, I don't even have to register my kills. Just shoot n eat.

That's cool!

Not sure the obsession people have with repopulating wild dogs. It just creates problems. Many nights I hear dozens of coyotes screeching and howling into the night here. It's like a western movie. Morning Johnny.

Morning! We have coyotes that come right up to our dog run. They have a trick: if they meet a dog that's roaming free, they'll start to play with it and gradually move toward where their pack is waiting. Then it's bye bye Rover.

I've considered that here. All my animals are kept in the house or on leads near the house but only during daylight. I have a pit, a black mouth cur, and a young black lab so the scrawny coyotes here would have their work cut out with at least a couple of those animals. I have fox holes in the back yard. I give them the excess eggs from my chickens. Things are barely larger than a good size cat. Caught the lab eating a dead armadillo carcass the other day,, NASTY! We have a family that lives over near my shed. They can carry leprosy!

Our Pittie/Red Lacy mix loves to eat Gophers when they surface. If there's a gopher hole inside the dog run, he digs like he's possessed. LOL

The Red Lacy was bred in Texas. It's Texas official breed. Bred in the 1800's to herd and chase hogs. Tough critters. Our Pittie/Lacy mix is not to be trifled with. He's super friendly and gentle with our friends and our family, especially the grandkids, but God help anyone who makes a bad move on any of us.
