such amazing riffs with that great tone of theirs, as well

First time I heard Mercyful Fate I thought it was 2 singers. I was amazed (and still am) with his vocal range.

Saw the king a couple years ago and he was sounding great. I had heard he’d been using the backup singer to pad his vocals but it sounded to me like she was just doing the harmonies off the record and the King could still hit the high’s just fine.

Last time I saw either was MF "9" tour, their last album. First time I heard Jeff Loomis in the flesh, Nevermore opened up. That concert kicked major ass! Hank Shermann was playing through a Laney GH100L and Marshall 4x12... I can't be certain, but I could swear Mike Wead was playing through a Line 6 Flextone Head!

Hail the King. Definitely my favorite santanist, “A Mansion in Darkness,” “The Oath,” and “The Invisible Guests” are on my workout playlist.

I have several MF and KD concert highlight moments. One was a KD tour where Andy broke out a black LP Custom for “Come to the Sabbath.” 10/10

the oath was a big deal when it came out... I like conspiracy and them too.. great metal guitar tone.

They deserve more credit for the creating of metal
Most definitely. They were a huge influence on Slayer's Hell Awaits album and Metallica as well...the stories of Metallica working on and recording Ride The Lightning at Sweet Silence next door to Mercyful Fate’s rehearsal room and getting to know King and the band. Then their influence on extreme metal can go on and on, too...Great band and those early albums and EPs are some of my all-time favorites.

I always like getting my groove on with a little Gypsy. Shakin’ my tuccus for Satan!

a fantastic album (and album cover). A Dangerous Meeting, The Oath, Come to the Sabbath, Gypsy.

Desecration of Souls is another gem. I just got some Bose noise cancelling headphones and am giving it a listen now. Great stuff!

The Oath is a frequent flyer in my stereo for sure. The title track is probably my favorite.

I love the 1st track on Fatal Portrait, The Candle. I like the spooky vocal harmony breakdown. It's like a Creepshow Episode!
