My Marshall DSL40 Combo in the early 2000s was the best thing I had until there was a loud pop. I tried to replace the tubes and took it to a technician. I ended up selling it because I'd already put so much money into repairs that it wasn't worth it.

A Nashville Rig-Talk amp fest is due. I can bring a boat load of cool amps.

Did you buy that 75 ocean here on the forum? If so, that amp is the one amp that is the whole reason I even joined the forum to try to buy back when I was in a few different bands actively playing.

The 75 Cameron Marshall with Ocean Mod I had was noisy and sprayed with red goop inside. Not the best amp I had of his by any means.

So that was yours? The clip was a recording in a basement. Always wondered what happened to that amp. He didn’t do many ocean mods to SLPs. I only know of two in existence.

Not that particular one. But this one I have is my all time favorite Cameron. I like this amp even better than the CCVs I have!
I really hope you'll find that amp someday. I totally understand you! Oceans rule!!!

James Lugo doesn’t post here anymore but owns a studio in Nashville. His amp fests are life changing.
Yeah! I went to his shootout here in Nashville in 2019. It was really fun, and I made a lot of friends there that day!

Spring w/James and friends at SIR?
I'm in!!

I was at his one in 2010 in Raleigh NC. I didn’t even know he had one in 2019.

Yeah that ocean mod sounded bat shit insane in clips. I’ve been on here for so long and never saw it materialize again in the classifieds. I gave up and grabbed this aldrich instead which IMO is a better amp for me overall. I plan to mod it to have a footswitchable 2nd set of 2 gain controls (4 in total) and two master volumes. I’ll build the amp I want now - times have changed lol

Yep and not great. That said the "Aldrich" mod Marshall I had was not the greatest either . Tons of hiss with gain way up and again a bunch of goop inside. Kurtstuff had a nice sounding CCV but the amps I had were not great to me.

Reading the beginning of this thread most of the people are gone.

I don't think I have favorite amps anymore.

Here's the last few I played on..

Mesa Mark IV
THD Univalve
Orange OR50
Mesa Tremoverb
Diezel Einstein
Orange Rockerverb
Mezzabarba MZero
Fryette Deliverance 120
Engl Amps Savage 120 Mark II

I'm using the Univalve and OR50 the most these days.
