I believe this plus Marty played that Tube preamp ? CAE?
Right. Mike Kaye was their long time tech and has a production credit on a couple of their albums. He seemed quite certain it was 2210 and the Bogner triple giant for the studio sound of rust. He also claimed to still have the triple giant they used on that album. I believe Marty used the tube preamp for the solos (but that’s just me talking there). The CAE didn’t come in until countdown to extinction. Also into a VHT 2150. The Rust in peace live tour sound was a Bogner fish. Which made sense since that was sort of the evolution of the triple giant and there were only 25 triple giants ever made.

I had the conversation with him a while ago when I purchased that rack SLO from him that belonged to Marty which was used to track angry again.

For whatever it’s worth I had a fish and a cae 3+ se at the same time. The cae definitely sounded better. I would still buy an od se + head
