The moon is important now because it will be utilized as a step to more exciting things. But generally it’s boring because it’s cut and dry. We’ve been there, it has a satellite keeping an eye on it, it’s well documented. I guess the tech is interesting because landing and functioning on the moon is extremely difficult, but then again, after the excitement goes away, this CLPS program is about making moon travel as cheap and efficient as possible, which is just business as usual.
Something like JWST gets into the theoretical and newly explored areas. It’s making so many people rethink standard operating procedures. I think that’s awesome and interesting.
….but if the moon stuff is seen as up on the air here and not cut and dry, then well JWST and others don’t stand a chance lol
