What altitude are you at?

I think about 2,400 ft. Weird how the mountains miles away aren't towering over me, though. Really starting to make me question this whole flat earth thing...

Hey guys, does this sound like The Offspring to you? Like the older, not goofy The Offspring. When they were still a little thrashy.

It’s unmixed and sloppy because I recorded as I wrote it, but I think it’ll be cool. I’m working on lyrics about a Tube Powered Furnace….

I get some of that, because I believe that the “benefit” of the stories is not that the kids are necessarily learning “inclusion” and “equality” and all that. I think kids just like to hear stories and see people dress up. On the same token, I also don’t believe any kids are leaving confused or questioning their sexuality. They were just happy to have a story read to them.
So I do think that part of it is just a bunch of douchey hand wringing and an excuse for parents to brag how “progressive” they are, but also don’t really care because the kids are leaving with a positive experience.
I think this is where you and I disagreed the most. I feel like it would be confusing to kids. It may be positive for some but it could also be detrimental. I doubt we have any empirical data anyway. I'd rather judge on the side of caution.

And you can't tell me you believe that the real reason for Trans Story Hour has nothing to do with getting kids used to deviant behavior. Normalizing.

Also - glad to see you back

You're either gay or you're not. When those kids get to puberty they aren't going to be able to stop their natural sexual preference. I do agree that some really bad shit could happen to them before then, but unfortunately parents are free to fuck up their kids minds.
Which is a huge problem IMO. Some people really should not be procreating. ?

Enjoy the decline.

I don’t think it is about normalizing deviant behavior because I think it is erroneous to equate drag solely with a sexual lifestyle.

There is certainly an overlap, but drag as a performance, is not inherently sexual. And I think these story hours further show that.

Yea, a lot of it is inappropriate. But so is a lot of pop music, movies, comedy, tv shows etc. However most wouldn’t have a problem if singers, actors, comedians etc offering the same program. if you can think of drag as a performance, it puts things in perspective. I think the bottom line is that homosexuality still makes a lot of people uncomfortable, and that just is what it is.

And I agree, there is no empirical data on how children feel about seeing them, but based on my own experience of having children who are exposed to people drag, it does not seem to be a confusing topic in the least. They are on tv and on YouTube, it’s not weird if you don’t make it weird. I think they have a better grasp of the situation than some people seem to on this forum lol

I can't even take your bullshit seriously.

You've literally become a parody of yourself.

:ROFLMAO:

Feel free to ignore me anytime lol.

I do think they are trying to “normalize” the fact that drag isn’t always about the fetish. Like if you the only thing you knew about comedy was Comedy Central Roasts, you would be mortified to hear that there are comedians for children. if you’ve only ever seen horror movies, you’d be confused to know that children’s movies exist.

Most people only know the derogatory side of drag so it is understandable that they don’t think it’s appropriate for children. Things like story hour are an opportunity to change that for anyone willing to allow that to happen.

Some people won’t. You are probably one of them. No one really cares
