My sister had half a day to explore Seattle and nearly got attacked.

Are you saying none of that happens in the big cities in Australia.
Never say never... but it's not the same - it's generally safer. There's no slums as such. I can't automatically think of somewhere in Sydney where I'm bound to see meth users on the street.

Actually I hear Alice Springs in the centre of Australia isn't real good at night (Aboriginal violence) these days... So maybe that would count.

Kings Cross, Cambelltown, Liverpool, Blacktown, Fairfield, Paramatta. All safe are they ?

For some insight to our issues here in WA; the cheapest home in Seattle for sale that I see right now is 396 square feet and a quarter of a million dollars and a $353/month HOA.

Yes - pretty mutch. Low socio economic areas and high immigration from places I don't think they should have ever allowed it from but not what I'd call slums or unsafe. I wouldn't feel unsafe there during broad daylight. I might feel uncomfortable that it's not very Australian by my definition of what Australian is because I remember what they were like when I was a kid and it's very different.

@Floyd Eye type "slums in Australia" in google and see what comes up.

So your government knocked out all the housing developments. Which is semantics. You still have crime and poverty ridden neighborhoods. And according to Google, the “Technical” slums are making a comeback.

I could elaborate on why I think that is, but I won’t. A hint though. It’s similar to slums here in a way.

Housing developments? You mean public housing? Well I'd prefer not to live in Public Housing but it's a stretch to call them slums.

Now that's a slum - but that would be India.

I’m not sure what you think “ slums” means dude. If you mean poverty ridden shitholes, you have them there. Don’t fool yourself.
