Somehow I doubt anything we get here called vegemite is gonna be what you know as vegemite.
It would have to be imported... so I think he's safe.

@japetus check where it says it's made on the jar.

Google street crime in Australia and see what comes up.

Sad what our country has become. But there’s always been bad sections of cities that even locals avoid. Until what- the past 10-15 years…Seattle seemed like a great place to visit. I have a buddy who lives out there and he loves it. Little bit of the granola has rubbed off on him but he’s still pretty squared away. Not sure where he’s at exactly but most of his neighbors are ex military like him. No foolishness in their area.

Only over there for some Radiology conference and in the half a day she had to herself she walked to some glass exhibition Chihuly Garden or something... Anyway on the way back she used google maps and it took her down some Pine Street and there were like Meth addicts and some black woman followed her and was yelling insults at her. She didn't turn around and kept walking and this woman kept following her yelling crap at her. Anyway she got away with it unscathed.

I doubt that would happen here - so yeah the USA is the best country in the world huh, Freedumb... all that shit... nope. Took half a day to run into some sort of trouble. I told her she should have researched the no go zones but it's not like that here.

Not calling you out whatsoever, just asking. I reread this and think the thread title is a little misleading. She was not almost attacked. I don't think it was after midnight was it? And Pine St is a lot closer to Pikes Market than the Chihuly museum. They are like 12 blocks apart at least. Not saying she didn't do that. I would have Uber'd as I agree there are lots of pockets of homeless and drug users all throughout that area. As a matter of fact, I think I saw that women you are referring to on Pine St last summer when I was there. It is a rather steep street as you move away from the bay. She was talking to herself (and traffic) a lot. We actually drove by her several times going to Pikes Market. She's harmless. She has mental issues/drug dependencies (guessing) that when combined, make her a little psychotic. Tell your sister not to take it personally. I'm not sure how old she is but walking 12+ blocks in the heart of an urban place like that that already has a reputation is really not advised. I personally would not walk 12 blocks in any major city on this planet including my own (even if I was carrying). :dunno:

Better watch out thumbpicker.

Victorians could go to prison for up to five years for hate speech under new anti-vilification laws proposed by the Victorian Government.

Under the proposed laws, it would be an offence to “incite hatred against, serious contempt for, revulsion towards or severe ridicule” of a person or group based on their sex, gender identity, or race.

Online, these laws will apply to anyone, anywhere who vilifies a person in Victoria, although the government acknowledges that this may be difficult to enforce.
