As a Petty Officer, I was only allowed to wear a command ballcap, Dixie cup, or the black split top old school working blue cover. So I am confused.

Edit - upon quick research, it seems they passed these out by the time I was in. So I apologize for my ignorance of the uniform back then. Apparently these were phased out for junior enlisted in the 80s
