Yes when prices go through the roof it becomes a consumption tax and consumption taxes favour the rich because they only consume so much like any other person. All the excess income for them is then tax free. The people that will suffer most from higher prices are the least wealthy.

People here think I'm completely against Trump however if they were paying attention they would have seen I like quite a few things he's doing. Getting rid of DEI and wokeness, attempting to cut the deficit... I just don't agree with his foreign policy when it comes to things like Canada, Greenland and indiscrimate tariffs. Tariffs and tariff levels needed to be thought out better including the consequences. I even don't disagree with modest or equal reciprocal tariffs on those countries that tariff you. However as I've said a thousand times - you have 3:1 trade surplus with us and we didn't tariff you under our free trade agreement and you still tariffed us - so guilty of the very thing you were whinging about being done to you.
