Mr Crowley Gary Moore?

i think the outros of RR’s solo in Tonight and GM’s Cold Hearted have some similarities
 
And here's Gary melting faces live with Thin Lizzy back in '78. Full concert.

Guitars are a bit low in the mix until around the 8:00 mark, but man what a show.

Mark Nauseef from Ian Gillan's band was filling in on drums on this gig. He played 2 tours with Thin Lizzy due to Brian Downey having health problems.

Ozzy originally wanted Gary Moore to be his guitar player. I've often wondered what they would have come up with.

I know Gary was a world class blues guitarists but my favorite Moore era, definitely him throwing down before all that stuff.

He was a huge influence from Lizzy's Black Rose really up until he went for the dollars and moved into the blues thing which frankly, I just cannot listen too.

Nobody could wring more emotion out of one note or a flurry of notes like Gary.

I like some blues and I like some of what Gary did as a Bluesman.

Most of it really is unlistenable though. Either it's a slow blues ballad, which he played well, or it's a fast blues song that only makes you miss the rocker Gary more

Yeah, that's something Gary's discussed many times. He didn't like Ozzy's heavy drinking & drug use, which is ultimately why he left Thin Lizzy.
He was dedicated to strong live performances, and ended up walking off the stage mid-set with Thin Lizzy because they were so sloppy and drunk/high.

It's ironic, since Gary became a heavy drinker later in life, which contributed to his death. He was 5 times the legal limit when he had the cardiac arrest. That was a sad day for me..



This one with Glenn Hughes has a smokin' lead as well.


This "love song" has ridiculous riffs..

I didn't know that he developed a drinking problem. It's tragic. That happened to a dear friend of ours. Somewhere along the line, booze took control of her, and turned her into someone different. She threw her family, friends and high paying career away and disappeared. We don't know if she's still alive.

Gary was possibly the most FEROCIOUS guitar player to walk the planet.

Amazing talent.
 
i can hear the eyes rolling and i’ll probably get a web liver punch for this,
but Phil Sayce sounded like he had a lot of GM in his playing when i saw him live.

Yeah, I had a high school friend die from it. 50 years old. HEAVY drinker. Several bottles of vodka a day, and his liver gave up. He was a great guitar player as well. He was playing EVH, (his idol) note for note IN HIGH SCHOOL. He later just gave it up, chose the bottle. I started down that path myself, but I'll have 8 years of sobriety later this year. It's a destructive drug.
