Most bizarre comment you ever received about your music.

I like it when someone in the band says, "we should cover ___" and then you sort of look down at the ground and to keep the peace, you say, "well, that's a possibility."

you do things very different from me, my response would have been "yeah that would be really cool.. for your side project.."

Well, if I say "it's a possibility..." that basically means, zero percent chance of it happening.

Most people haven't listened to any of my stuff long enough to make a comment.

I played a show once and a few people came up to me after the show and was like "you play music like you have a really huge wang". It was the weirdest thing, but I thanked them for the compliment and telling the truth.

I have 🤷 I always listen when people post original music, even if I don't care for the style

I admit though I don't care as much about covers unless it's someone who's playing I already like

Speaking of, do we have a general thread where we post original music?

Interesting thread with some cool and funny stories. Thanks for sharing them. In my years doing the shitty local scene, i was mostly exposed to some softer comments but having a humble YouTube channel, i can confirm you gotta have a thick skin.

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to listen.

When I was a teenager, I played in front of my Dad once and all he said was “that’s just weird” haha. I actually took it as a compliment at the time since he only liked Country music.

In a riff wars on here I got a comment that my tone sounded like Ball’s To The Wall, still brings a tear to my eye just thinking about, nicest thing ever.

I used to play with a heavy hand. One guy scowled and said "you must have learned to play on an acoustic."

He was correct that my technique was awful. So I took lessons and fixed it.

Our old band was hired to bring our P.A. for raffle announcements and play as long as we wanted at a small town harvest festival. We played our super loud heavy metal originals throughout the day and annoyed everyone except four cool people.

A really good country band showed up towards the end of the night and ripped it up through mostly our gear. Everyone was dancing and having a blast. After their set the country band wanted to hear us do a couple songs. A lady in the front row yells "NOT THESE ASSHOLES AGAIN!" and the crowd cleared out quick. Went home. The mayor that hired us laughed and said it was worth the money she paid us to get everyone out of there on time.

Some one said I was was ripping off Polyphia on one of songs . But it was made in 2011 . Well before them. I lose either way lol

I would love to hear some of this if you can send or link it. I love creepy stuff

I used to play Rob Zombie for my kids every year at Halloween. They loved it and got used to it. Luckily, they couldn't really understand the lyrics due to Rob's vocal style  Then, the next Halloween would roll around and they say, "Dad, play your Halloween music"
It's on YouTube and all the Streaming sites like Spotify and Apple Music. Last I checked, you could ask Alexa to play it for you too. It's under Something Involving A Monkey. Our first album and the Halloween had the most creep factor.

That I needed to work on my vibrato when there was no vibrato in the song. Wouldn't have been that bizarre if the person who said it didn't say it a dozen or more times while claiming to be a lifelong gigging musician.
It's my accent. I wasn't saying vibrato...

I don't think she was referring to you :D

Checked out "2A" and "It's Not Funny". Yeah, that's intense. Thanks for sharing. It seems like an interesting combination of Limp Bizkit, KSE, RATM, Slipknot and some techno. Hope that doesn't offend in anyway as love all of that.

A women walked up to the stage and asked if we played anything other than porn music ?

I said no and kicked into a extended wah solo.
