Playing around with my older Marshall 4x12 and considering picking up a set of creamback m65s for it but would likely run them in an X pattern with something else. While there’s plenty of comparisons between the m and H, I haven’t seen much in the way of opinions of mixing the m65s with others…

Current cabinet situation:
Fryette FB4x12 with V30/Redbacks
VHT D412 with Scumbacks H75/J75
Emperor 412 with LCFR150/V30

And then this Marshall. Was all Fane F70 and is now F70/F90 mixed. Just trying to find a more differentiated speaker combo for it

If you are going to mix speakers, which I wouldn't recommend, they should at least be the same wattage.

Those may be the weakest speakers I have ever tried in need of cialis or some weak tip supplement. A friend brought over a beautiful bogner cab and the very instant I played I stopped, next!!!!

Since it's an older Marshall I'd try to keep that vibe. Celestion Greenback/EVH/Heritage or similar.

You're gonna have all your cabs with different mixed speakers?

I agree T75s or Redbacks on bottom, M65s on top. Both killer combos!

No not even. I call bullshit. They should be called cream puff m65s...save your time and thank me later. No amount of imagination mind trick can make these worthy of more than dog shit.

Karl Sanders sure disagrees!

Greenbacks would work. EVH/Heritage are 96db. Theyd get drowned out by the m65.

I have a set of speakers 3db apart in my 4x12 and the 96db neos are hard to hear

I have a Bogner 4x12 with M65 Creambacks. I brought it over to Exo-Metal's place the other day and we played four different amps through it: two modded Marshalls (Super Lead, Super Trem), a stock/boosted 2204, and a Mark IIC+. I also played my Hiwatt Super-Hi 50 through it recently. I foolishly bought these speakers because everybody raves about them. But honestly... I think they're absolutely garbage. Like horrible. Awful. Disgusting.

I have another, identical Bogner cab with G12H-75 Creambacks and they are incredible. Amazing.

The M65s are sloppy. Loose. Weak. Fizzy. Soft. Scooped.

If you want them, I'll happily sell them to you. They are brand new.

Or maybe never listen to dave74 after recommending these bc some some fat fuck from some garbage metal band says otherwise. I can only imagine how long this thread might go on after the installing these and having to endure numerous posts highlighted by regret and utter failure.

Nah you got me all wrong sorry. I simply found humor in the contrast between your and Karl's description of the M65.
I've never had the chance to play one myself, but the OP was asking what to mix with the M65, and I suggested the t75.

I had high hopes for the M65s. I listened to tons of clips A/B'ing them against every other speaker, including H75s, which I have. I liked what I heard in many of the clips. But I just couldn't get a good sound out of them. By contrast, many people say the H75s sound fizzy and lack mids and are overly bright or something like that. But again, that is a complete 180 from my experience.

The ones I have in my other Bogner cab are full bodied, tight, strong and authoritative, and have a rather rude and angry mid range bark (in a good way). Yes, the highs can be a little bright, so I just turn the treble down a bit—after all they're still H magnets. But overall they are just amazingly musical sounding speakers. Mine are 8-ohm versions wired up however Bogner typically does it.

Yeah I should have been more clear, I wasn't suggesting to mix them with the Creamback M65.
