New Big Wreck: 80's vibes you guys will appreciate.

I really need to listen to more Big Wreck. The riffing on the tune from the last album grabbed me pretty quick and Thornley's lead playing is right up my alley. Going to rectify my Big Wreck exposure tonight!

This tune sounds very reminiscent of a rocking Mr. Big tune with some Vai from the Eat Em and Smile era tossed in. I dig it.

damn...i really wanted to shit on it but that was really good

Yeah try listening via Qobuz or Tidal through Aurirvāna and be amazed. His new recordings are all high def and meticulous, really dig 7.2 and Pages. Of course having seen them first on MTV's Reverb alongside Disturbed (Laughing out loud!), watched them perform on ...in Loving Memory of and The Pleasure and the Greed tours, it's a joy to see them thriving and still contributing greatness to the community.

I just switched back to Qobuz after giving Tidal another shot. While Qobuz’s playlist and library structure could be improved, they have been my favorite listening experience so far.

Love Big Wreck! Discovered them about 3 years ago and wondered how the hell I missed out on them. Ian is such an inspiring technical player. Got to see them at the Guitar Sanctuary, which was a pretty interesting venue but they tore it down and they are crazy tight. The whole band is exceptional. Can’t wait to rip this tune!

The tones here are so superlative:

Big Wreck and Devin Townsend would be the ultimate prog-rock Canada night. This can happen.

Short history if you are new to their music:

Ian is unreal good both singing and guitar playing.
Yeah I hope he gets the call to sub for Chris Cornell...I mean they could do a "Reunion" like Pantera and cash in, while exposing their fans to his music. It'd be a win for everyone.

Big Wreck broke up in the early 2000s for about 10 years, while they were on hiatus Ian put out some good albums under the name Thornley, worth checking out as well

GREAT longform interview with Ian on Berklee, salad days, meeting Ahmet Ertegun, signing to Atlantic, dinner with Alex Lifeson and Steve Wilson of Porcupine tree before ALL going to see King's X, totally rad shit get in here:
