Lack of OTC drama appreciation thread

So yeah, lack-of-drama-appreciation thread lives up to its name 'til it gets sabotaged.

Got the same problem here bro'. Takes over from fence / concrete-floor gaps at my place too.

We're not allowed to put it in the garden-recycle bin, or any bin for that matter.

Kinda-strange, 'cause we're no longer allowed to burn stuff in our backyards, so what do they expect us to do with them?
I own a landscaping business, and there are some invasive weeds we have to bag up and put in the landfill. It sucks to waste the plastic and mummify organic matter where it will turn to methane, but the point is to keep the seeds or other propagules out of the ecosystem.

we have a huge garlic mustard problem around here.
Many of our roads go through protected areas so they are reduced or no salt areas in the winter. years ago a load of road sand we got must have been loaded with garlic mustard seeds, because it began spreading like wildfire from the roadsides up the mountains.
Massachusetts has been adding plants to their invasive list like crazy lately which is pretty great imo

That sucks. Invasive species are a pain. We've got bell flower problems here. They are pretty enough at least.

Half my yard is invasive salt cedars i.e juniper. I'd have a pasture sprinkled with live oaks without them. They first claimed "they suck up all the water so the native species are choked out" but now say that they hold the soil together, and allow other native species to thrive. I have plenty of oaks out here that get choked out by cedars or were getting choked out until the cedars were clear, leaving behind gnarled, twisted oaks.

I came across that kudzu shit a little bit when I lived in PA but thankfully it’s not up here. MA is banning shit left and right like barberry and burning bush. I think we just pushed Bradford Pear through this summer which is awesome

They got my rose bushes pretty bad this year. Fingers crossed for round 2 of the blossoms.

My youngest calls them “Japaneedles” which I really like lol
I finally put up a trap. It’s a testimony to their stupidity: dropping into the bag by the 100s and smothering those that dropped in earlier, simple but effective.
Japaneedles...love it. :)

The garden talk keeps the drama out
If you grow a thick enough okra hedge it keeps angrier members here from doing this:

Got some pretty impressive crepe myrtles. I’ve spent 25 years so far keeping about 15 trees on the river bank alive through aggressive but barely effective winter creeper eradication. I have managed to save the trees and keep the shit from coming over the hill though. I fucking hate that shit. Fucking smothers everything. Vines get as thick as your leg if you let it.

Those Myrtle’s were some of my favorite things about living in PA. They just barely survived there but don’t stand a chance up here in MA
