The 20th century was the chance to prove atheism as a superior motivating moral for humanity. Most of the west is essentially secular now, even more so today, and the world has grown darker and darker in the "post modern" age and more were killed in wars in a 100 years than in the previous thousands...

The atheist bolsheviks had their chance at a workers paradise, instead they put thousands of priests to death, burnt or claimed churches and monasteries for themselves never mind jailing/torturng/executing thousands of other people labeled as a political threat. Life is a pure hell if a man resigns himself to believing that human achievements are the way to a sort of personal and social paradise. Until we enter the heavenly kingdom the big rock candy mountain way of life does not, and cannot, be made to exist unless it's at the expense of another person. See: Gaza.

If he actually makes a deal that actually stops them from fighting, I will happily commend him for it.

I will still think he’s an absolute piece of shit that deserves to rot in a prison cell, but I won’t deny something if he actually does it.
