In portland's case, as well as chicago, it seems very likely the local politicians and law enforcement are the power behind it - because antifa protests never work when people are allowed to fight back

Last time I heard anything about them here they were protesting somewhere in St. Charles County and pretty much got ran down by a bunch of white boys in pickup trucks. Even the stuff in the city in 2020 was relegated to downtown. You didn't see any of that on the north side or the south side. And there's never been anything even close to a riot down here in Jerf Cod. That would end really badly.
