This dude.....if we ever met, I think the hipster/millenial vibes would create a distance....BUT...even this dude is saying it. Look at the playing samples. It literally turned his playing into pure BETA.

IVe been saying it....No headstock begets soy.

Im telling you....

Couldn't agree more. This is one of those things that is so hideously unaesthetic that I have no idea how it caught on.

They look disgusting and stupid. I'm not trying to offend anyone that likes them, but objectively I just want them to know they look like a fucking dork.

Rhett Schill is bad no matter what he plays so playing a guitar he hates makes it even worse.
Holdsworth and lots of guys have actually sounded good playing some headless guitars but that guy sounds like shit no matter what he plays. As far as his tone classes - That has to be a joke.

There's a BIIIIG dude locally that plays headless guitars. Usually has a stand with 6 of them or something on stage. They look like screwdrivers when he is playing lol. Tiny little things. I see the benefit for travel, but agree. They look ridiculous.

I gigged a Steinberger a few months ago.

Being 6 foot 4 tall, I looked ludicrous. But my back never felt better the next morning (post-gig anyways).

They look stupid, but when you're advancing in years, they're a godsend.

You can't get some guitarists out of the mid 20th century. That's why Gibson, Fender, etc. keep making the same guitars since the '50s; because that's what sells.

At one point the Les Paul, SG, Flying V, Explorer, Firebird, Strat, etc., were new, fresh, innovative designs. Back when guitarists still had open minds.

:D

How about headless and no fretboard?

Hard to take his critique of a guitar based on looks seriously when he plays those absolutely gawdaful atrocious Novo's

Each to their own. I have a strandberg with a trem and i can string it and get it stable within minutes, hardly ever goes out of tune, and sounds killer(to me)..

To the OP, then how do you explain the guy playing here with Chuck?

You're learning, that really what matters. There's a lot of skill and talent in this band.

Man I must be getting old. What does it mean it turned his playing into pure BETA? And “no headstock begets soy”?

The Holdsworth H2s are really good quality guitars and sound great. I also had a Steinberger that I loved back in the day. It was the one that looked like a small headless Flying V, not the most commonly seen rectangualar shaped one. Damn I shoulda never sold that one. It's probably worth some coin now.

"beta" as in a submissive, passive, feminine, subordinate male - contrast with "alpha", as in the leader, boss, masculine male

"begets soy" - soy is used as a derogatory term because eating large amounts of it raises the amount of estrogen in your hormones. In this case the lack of headstock "begets" or creates or leads to "soy" (or pussy, lame, effeminate)guitar playing

These are just the new-fangled ways of calling someone (or in this case, someones guitar playing) a "bitch," "faggot," "liberal," "pussy." etc

No shame in not knowing what the youngsters are saying, but in this case this is the slang of a couple generations ago (millennials) not the youngsters who would be saying "skibidi rizz ohio 67 toilet aura" or something like that
