The new 104 Black
is my favorite amp I have ever played . Better than I could have imagined. Reinhold is the man.

I have the Telos head which I play through an oversized Bogner 2x12 with ASW Crossroads (old Greenback copies). It has a boost mode which is good but I understand the JB45 has perfected. But it does that ONE thing, a Bognerized version of the Dirty Shirley perfectly.

The XTC 50w really is an optimized XTC. Loop is perfected. It has the 100B preamp. Somehow the filtering/NFB values are perfected for the 50w platform so it does not feel “small” whatsoever. It DOES (like the 100B) need some volume. The master is much better than the 100B but the lower gain (than the 101B) necessitates involving a tad of power amp compression.

If you were turned off by the 3534 but want a smaller more portable form factor that is a bit more rewarding for the expert player it is a fantastic platform.

My 100B is sonic bliss from an earlier era. I’ll probably never get to play it out unless I get asked to play an immense venue with no decibel limits on stage (unlikely). I am taking it to my amp tech this week for a thorough overhaul.

I will keep you guys posted on that, though he is slow in a genius mad scientist way and that’s fine with me.
If you decide to sell your Bogner Telos, I'm looking for one.

MORE DETAILS PLEASE!!!!
Ok. First channel is a great Clean as has been evident on the 50 and latest amps.0 channel is freaking incredible. Dirty clean or 70s Plexi cleanish or dimed 70s Marshall on the verge of exploding. Has something I have heard in no other bogner ever. Open and super alive . Has a mid shift switch which alters a bunch and also has a three way that makes it do many things. This channel alone is worth the amp. Amazing and will shock many.

Blue can be Plexi or blue or red and boosted via footswitch Also has a couple extra switches as does red which is amazing too. You can make blue a different version of red if you like as it is all assignable. Has a great footswitch and also is MIDI capable. This is the amp I have been looking fore my entire life. My band freaked out when I used it. Heavy 100 watter w2ithy a half power switch. Tons of options for killer tones in this beast and I cannot wait for people to see and hear and feel what this offers. Not a better metal amp than the Uber Ultra but to me a better Ecstasy than ANY of its previous versions and I have had them all.

Thanks brother...Sounds pretty amazing, I know it's not a Uber, but can it do convincing metal rhythm tones on Blue (boosted) or Red?

Sorry..But also, I see controls for 0 1 2 3 ...Is this essentially a 4 chan amp?

yes Clean Green 1, 0 Purple, Blue 2 and red 3. 4 Channels and unlike a VH4 or any 4 channel amp I have played this has 4 great channels.
AMAZING 4 channel amp.

From knob placement in the video, and seeing the gain on that sound is around 1pm, channel 4 looks like it'll be somewhere between green and blue, gain-wise. Assuming his guitar volume is wide-open of course.

Pure speculation of course but, I'd not be surprised if channel 4 turns out to be that additional gain stage in red, applied on green instead of blue, and sharing the eq with green.

Like:

channel 1/green - clean
channel 4/purple? - clean + gain stage
channel 2/blue - lead
channel 3/red - lead + gain stage

Thanks for the details! It looks like I got the "purple" right, but of course in classic Reinhold flair, he dubbed the new channel "0" instead of re-ordering them lol Love it! It'll prob replace my Helios Eclipse at some point but, we'll see.

Once people had a chance to peek inside, we'll also know if the "gain stage on clean" guess was true as well.

Would be interested to hear if the new purple or the other voicings can get some chrome-face Classic tones out of it.

Edit: BTW, did the negative feedback stuff (excursion and presence) move to the back, or gone? If there, I expect them to be master controls.

Yes and the presence knob for channels 2 and 3 is on the back and highly effective. There is a depth switch for power amp excursion on front for 2and 3 as well as a shift switch which alters the mid content,

Ch2 Mode Selector: Red - Blue - Plexi
Gives you the choice to run Ch2 in the standard
blue mode, an identical second red channel or
60’s Plexi mode.

Ch3 Mode Selector: Red - Blue - 80’s
Gives you the choice to run Ch3 in the standard
red mode, an additional second blue channel or
the 80’s mode, which is a slightly more agressive
blue with added compression for a more fluid
feel, this mode cuts the overall level more or less
depending on settings and might require you to
set Ch3 volume higher to be in balance!

Thanks, any details on the "Modern" switches on Ch 2&3? Is it like a Classic/Vintage/101 switch from the Pandora? Or renamed "structure" maybe?

Modern switch Ch2 (Ch3)
On the Gold Voicing the modern setting will give
you the familiar Ecstasy mid push gain structure,
on the Black Voicing it is the opposite, modern
off, toggle set down! It is a good starting point to
go through all the other modes, disengaged
gives a more open vintage voiced sound

Oh even more voicings with Gold & Black. It's an XTC alright :D Thanks!
