Yes and the presence knob for channels 2 and 3 is on the back and highly effective. There is a depth switch for power amp excursion on front for 2and 3 as well as a shift switch which alters the mid content,

Ch2 Mode Selector: Red - Blue - Plexi
Gives you the choice to run Ch2 in the standard
blue mode, an identical second red channel or
60’s Plexi mode.

Ch3 Mode Selector: Red - Blue - 80’s
Gives you the choice to run Ch3 in the standard
red mode, an additional second blue channel or
the 80’s mode, which is a slightly more agressive
blue with added compression for a more fluid
feel, this mode cuts the overall level more or less
depending on settings and might require you to
set Ch3 volume higher to be in balance!
I’ve spent a good bit of time dialing in my 101b so that the blue & red channel play great together for old school metal thrashy tones. I can start on the blue channel > red > blue boosted > red boosted (in that sequence) while maintaining the same basic feel & tone but progressively heading into growl on the blue channel boosted & total saturation w/ boost on the red channel. The blue channel (with the bright switch on b2) has a distinct ‘something’ I’ve only heard (and felt) through a VHT 50 Pitbull once owned and foolishly sold. Amp’s dialed in using JB/Jazz pickups through well broken-in CL80’s and I’ve no clue how it would record but it’s fantastic in the room. I most definitely have tinnitus so there’s that, but the amp’s quiet overall until channel 3’s boosted, just how I like it.

All this to say I’m totally intrigued by this new ecstasy, mainly for the reasons stated above. The latest 50W seems well received amongst xtc owners but this one.. maybe next level. Thank you for the great updates. You describe the amps functionality well.

FWIW: my 101b settings are shown below. Running 1/2 pwr w/new setting on back of the amp and it’s noteworthy to mention I painstakingly selected individual tubes for V1-V3 to fine tune channel 2&3.

Nice! This one has 7 preamp tubes. One dedicated to the new 0 channel. This amp is definitely next level in my opinion. I have had every version since the early 100's to the new 50 which I love. This thing is killing me. The other guitar player in my band said was the best tone he has ever heard. During Parisienne Walkways the way it holds the sustaining notes into feedback is so cool. It also sounds amazing at low volumes with the overall front master down low. Cranked up through a 4X12 it never hurts you like some amps do.

Never hurts you, but is there any edge and bite to the purple channel? My only fear with these amps is too smooth and rolled off. I’m hoping those options are there, but maybe the purple channel has a more raw sound.

Definitely. Has a dedicated three way switch which adds or takes away sizzle and a dedicated mid switch which ads mids or scoops mids. Incredible channel.
