New Bogner XTC 104BV

An amp like this, I would be spending more time dicking with the switches than actually playing. Plus, the price is insane.
Sounds great

I originally bought my xtc to keep it simple, funny as that sounds. Something to just plug straight in w/out pedals, eq or effects w/switches & knobs on them. It’s the most ‘musical’ and satisfying amp I’ve owned. The learning curve appears steep, but it’s really not once you get a handle on it. The reward for all the switches is that there are tones galore for just about any style or guitar/pickup choice inside the xtc. Great amp.

The new 104 drops the low input - I use mine and would miss that.

Sounds pretty great here...I love mid shift options. One of my favorite features on the Koch Supernova and the Diezel Herbert.

Looks like there's one on Reverb for almost 4500. I think it sounds pretty good from the last clip posted, but I don't think I will be letting my 101b go to get one myself. I don't think I will be spending that much for a variation of the XTC sound.

Possibly as an option would be to buy this version used down the line if the prices come down quite a bit?

Expensive...But given the quality and features probably not "above market" as a new Diezel VH4 is $4.500.

Purple channel sounds pretty cool in seniór Big Hairy’s demo. I’ve avoided the XTC’s for a while because I thought it would be option paralysis, but after getting to know my Helios 100 I find a lot of cool shit in there and the hours just fly by getting inspired. Now I’ve got the 104bv, Snorkler, and Shiva 20th on my short list. Wonder if the BV was what Jerry was working on with Bogner? Seems the XTC platform has plenty of parallels with the Fish but I can’t definitively say one way or the other. Hell, maybe it is a Fish RI at the end of the day. Anyways, BV sounds killer - I need to hide my wallet.

Although I’m not biting at the retail price - I’d definitely be more inclined to spend this amount of cash for the amp instead of a $4500.00 guitar. Better value IMO.

Sounds good and if I was going to run a Bogner live that's probably what it would be.

But the Synergy stuff has pretty much spoiled me on having as many totally independent channels as I want of whatever I want.

Great sounding amp! Mike’s demo was great! Finally, midi on an XTC!

Just dropped

That’s how an XTC is supposed to sound.

Bogner said it’s a ground up build but I’m not really hearing anything too adversely different from what a 90’s XTC offers in terms of clean, crunch, and using a pedal to boost the blue channel instead of an onboard boost. I sold my XTC for $3k even. I’m not sure I hear $1500 more there.

It would be nice if there was a bit of the ultra in a 4th channel for the over the top versatility.

This is a great amp for versatility though. I’d take one over a newer SLO.

Buttons and switches . I’ll tell you tell you this . A lot of those buttons barely do shit. .even on my fav amps . Especially on the Engls . What the fuck lol
