It does sound great. I think this is going to be a hit with Glens line. Basically I believe it’s his 68 Brownout with a master volume, 85 watts and an effects loop.

Good choice for the set list. Riff Raff is my main trying out amps riff. If the amp doesn’t sound good playing that riff then it’s not the amp for me. 😂 Just add greenbacks and that is the sound on the rhythm channel. Of course it’s no plexi but damn close and fun.

Agreed the lack of compression is the one thing that keeps me coming back to the MC design. Lower the bass, crank the mids, keep the gain at a respectable level and your in AC/DC territory on the rhythm channel with the black cat mod engaged.

I dig the black cat feature also. With it on and boost on rhythm it can get up to W800 style. Gives the MC more versitility.

Rick can do a shift mod on the treble control which to my ears adds saturation and Kerrang to my ears. Basically updating the MCII to 2023 specks. He did that for my old 2016 MC 1. The W800 did have less gain. I did not miss it personally but I can understand some players needing it depending...

Cool. Yeah I should really give the MTL another crack. I usually have my mids on the MC II up around 6 or 7 so I’d probably start there anyway’s. Sold the W800 to VHTStark on the forum. I miss it though. It was a fun amp for sure.

Interesting. The mid voicing is what makes me stick with the MC’s and shy away from MTL. Though after your video and explanation I’m rethinking my stance on the matter. The sat feature is a very cool feature but I don’t miss it on the MCII.
