This is my setup now:
Bogner 412: Redback/M65 - changing to Redbacks or Redback/H75 (possibly RB/V30)
Splawn 412: Redback/V30 - sounds great
Bogner 212: Redbacks
Stone Age 212: Redback/CL80.
I may change one of my 212s to RB/V30 or RB/H75. Although I had tried these before and ended back on...
My Splawn straight cab has Redback/UK V30 and sounds amazing. I'm thinking all Redbacks or Redback/H75 for my Bogner. Believe it or not, RB/CL80 works too. I talked to Coffee cabs and they steered me away from Redback/K100 as there would be too much low end according to them. Not sure if they...
Still using all Redbacks?
Right now I am liking my Redback/V30 mix. Huge sound and was thinking of doing my other 412 which is slant also Redback/V30.
Otherwise, I'll do one as all Redbacks or Redback/H75.
My Bogner lacks some of the authority and punch if my Splawn with Redback/V30 and I'm...
I am in a similar position. I have a Splawn 412 with Redbacks/V30s and love it. I was going to do my Bogner 412 Redbacks/V30s as well but now I am thinking Redbacks/H75s or 4 Redbacks! Are you still liking the Redbacks on their own? To me, they are balanced and warm. Easy to make my amp bright...
To me they are plenty tight. To me that tightness is more from the amp, not speaker. All my speakers are plenty tight. Heck, my buddy is an LA studio session player, tours with bands and records for bands. He pretty much just uses Redbacks.
Most guys want the V30 mic'ed.
I love the Redback/V30 blend and a lot of small clubs/venues do not mic the guitar cabs. Instead, they let stage volume fill the room.
Are you liking the Redback/H75? I have two Redbacks in my Bogner 212 and Redback/CL80 in my Stone Age 212, but I am not a 212 fan so I mostly use my 412 cabs. Right now my Bogner 412 is Redback/M65 and Splawn 412 is Redback/V30(UK). I love the Redback/V30 blend.
I am loving the Redback/V30 in...
Thank you John. Big help man.
I'm also looking at a Bogner XTC 3534 50 watt, and finally the Mesa TC-100.
I know these are all different tonal flavors but I'm trying to add to my collection with tones, while different, I'll enjoy.
Interesting what you said about the 100 watts. I'm not so...
I love the Shiva 20th and Ecstacy.
That said, it's been a while since I've played an Ecstacy. I want to try the 50 watt 3534 and the Friedman BE-50 Deluxe.
A few guys with whom I've talked about Friedman, mentioned the BE is dizzy and they ended up keeping their Ecstacy rather than the Friedman...
I'd like to try an Einstein or D-Mol.
I wonder if it could replace my love of Bogner. I like amps that have some squish and are supportive, punchy. I am not a fan of too dry gain or amps that fight me.
Thinking my next amp will be a Friedman or maybe even that new PRS MT100.
I don't know about that. I'm 53 and have owned a lot of Marshall's including a 1969 Plexi and a couple of modified JCM 800s.
I love the 70s, 80s, 90s and some of the 2000s. I was in a few 90s cover bands which were a blast. Beyond that, it's been mostly original bands. I will admit, I'm a big...
Mt favorite of his amps is the Naked but it's hard to find.
I have not heard the Steve Stevens amp. Thanks.
I also have been liking what I hear from the new PRS MT100!
Anyone Friedman users have comments on a comparison to Bogner amps? Namely the Shiva and various XTC amps? I have a 20th Anniversary Shiva (KT88) and am considering a Friedman.
