Yes. They're identical cabs. Only difference is the aesthetics/branding and the Syn cab has a multi-jack that supports either 16 ohm mono or 8 ohm stereo connection (to support stereo power amps for the Synergy preamp/power amp type rigs). Oh, yeah, and the Syn sells for $300 less new. :P
Got...
I got the DeLisle with the loop switching (8x6 Pro Plus w/ Attenuator) even though I have a PS2.
This allows me to run my Syn2 preamps, Kraken V4 preamp, AxeFx III, or Quad Cortex amp models into any given power section that is hooked into the switcher.
So, I can run my Synergy preamps into...
I have a SYN30 head and also have a Syn2 rack unit along with a KSR PA50 (w/ EL34s). I also have a Fryette PS2 that I have used with the Syn2 as power amp in addition to a SYN5050.
For your scenario, I would get the SYN30, personally. It's a fine amp and it is great in a studio context. BTW: It...
LOL fair enough. ;) I've considered a few Cameron-alikes. I do have a 'Camerock' synergy module that is really a lot of fun, but there is always curiosity. Cool info re the Pandora. Anyway congrats on your cool new amp. Do not want to derail your thread with Cameron talk, we know how that gets.
Guitar gear is certainly not the most out of control bobby price wise. In fact, I'd agree it is definitely on the cheapish side. The absolute best in class primo stuff (not counting weird, collector only vintage value like rare LPs, etc) is highly affordable to most people earning a decent wage...
If you watch the video and actually listen to it, it is pretty well reasoned and is just really someone processing his observations and trying to make sense of the lay of the land based on the trends and attitudes he sensed in talking to other folks while on a recent tour. I thought it was...
I have one. Really happy with it. If you are into the capture/profile thing it is freaking great. There are still some rough spots, in particular the data management is getting overhauled on the next FW release but it is pretty killer. View it as a Kemper rival not an AxeFx or Helix competitor...
No, it's not like that at all on the current ones. You sound like some one who has not spent any time at all with one of the newer models and is actively trying to dislike/prejudge., TBH.
Some guys who would likely be having amps modded, etc, do the equivalent of that in the box. That's about...
Great post. I think you hit on a lot of it with the user experience being so superior with tube/analog.
For tones, I agree… esp for recordings and micced, I am sure most people here claiming the sounds are not there would actually fail a double blind test. The user experience is completely...
The Syn5050 is 100W bridged if you are running mono. It’s a great amp; very similar design to the LXII they are both Fryette designs. The PS2 and 100 are nice for mono power amps.
The PS has a switch that engages or disengages the filter it also has controls for high end and low end response that should be reflected on the line out. So the user does have some significant control at his disposal.
In general, the Fryette is a great load box. Since reactive loads have a...
Same, I see lightning or am out for a number of days (pretty rare), I generally wake up if there is a storm at night. Not going to chance anything to a lightning strike. Ditto all my computer gear etc.
LOL. Glad I didn’t come here before getting mine. I would have missed out on an amazing amp. It’s beastly, sounds like a 50 watt SLO to me. I changed the power tubes out for Tung Sol 6L6-STRs. It’s an incredible all round rock amp from clean all the way to metal amp.
IMHO.
Thanks for all the input @Dimebag11 and the clips, which definitely help. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on one of these (new build) after talking to the Driftwood guy (Marek). Am going with KT77's as the tube type
On the IR version of the amp, how does the reactive load box work is it a switch to engage the internal load or does it auto switch when you pull the plug? The guy from Driftwood made it sound like you could yank the load box out of the amp... Also, from the pic on the site it looks like it is a...
