I got a rev A rackmount this year and I don't touch my other amps since then... The lead channel is just perfect. I use it mostly in full power, simul-class, triode and harmonics with 4 6L6s.
However, does anyone else notice that the presence pot on the lead channel has a very subtle effect...
I don't know much about the various issues that can be caused by bad grounding/wiring in your house/apartment, but didn't you say you used to have to have a PRS with passive electronics that was dead silent plugged in that same setup? Moreover you had this that you had this problem in different...
IMO the problem is in the guitar. I also had noise with the BKP Nailbomb in one of my guitars, the BKPs are very transparent and sensitive so they can capture more interferences than other pickups (the Nailbomb is also high output which inccreases possible noise). I rewired it at least 5 times...
Was the hum/noise identical with the different pickups you swaped in? Did you use different wiring configurations depending on the pickup? Did ANY change you made to that guitar over the years alter (not diminish or cancel but just changed) the nature of the hum?
A guy was selling a mark iv for $600 in miami. E-mailed him, he sanwered from a different adress saying it was sold already but said he bought 2 of those on xxx bidding website (the ones you have to pay a fee every time you bid) for mad cheap. E-mailed him from a different account, exact same...
Oops sorry for the misinformation! For some reason I thought you where talking about the Torpedo Reload, which has a selectable load. Please ignore my first post!
The torpedo reload can have a different load for input and output (load is selectable in the back) if i'm not mistaken. This gives you the ability to match any amp with any cab. I do not own the unit but I was very interested in buying it at one point and did research on it.
As Erock said it will depend on the LP, if it is already very bright you may have different results. I put some in my studio that is dark and warm, the stock pickups made it sound muddy with gain but Rebell Yell's where just a perfect match, imo one of the overall best pickups for a LP. They are...
For monitors it depends what your willing to spend. In the lower end ones, i Highly recommend the JBL LSR305 (150usd each). I tried side by side at least 10 monitors under 400usd (including krk, presonus, yamaha, m audio...) and they where far superior in every compartment.
Thanks for info, I was actually about to pull the trigger soon!! I also forgot to take the VAT discount out of the price on the BKP website since it's outisde the EU, price difference will be even smaller... It's a shame there isn't a better distributor for the US because the exchange rate is...
Which dealer was it? I'm considering buying a new set of BKPs myslef... Previously I ordered them direct (i took 2-3 weeks) but I see Axe Palace sells them for cheaper than if you order them direct from BKP (I'm paying in US dollars and the GBP/$ rate sucks if you pay in $!!). 2 months wait time...
I had the HT5 for a while and didn't really like it. It's not the same amp of course but they share some same tonal characteristics. It depends what style of music you will be playing but for metal it will be a big step down from your tremoverb... I felt the HT series sounded a bit muddy and...
I like the mesa better on this clip, it sounds darker and maybe gives a better 'ambience' to the song. They don't sound as different as I would have thought however! Must be because they where recorded in the same room, same guitar, equipment etc..
I like alder personally but it will really depend on the guitar.. Don't focus too much on it, just try the different guitars you're thinking about and decide with your ears. There's probably 50 different kinds of alder used among all guitar manufacturers...
I have a Ditto looper and for home use etc. I think it's really nice. However, I would pay the little extra and get the Ditto x2, but it wasn't out yet when I was looking for a looper. The extra button will really make things easier for you, so I would recommend getting the Ditto X2
