I've seen a few videos recently where he's discussing his tone and how he's using the 1 and 3 on stage and how his new Legacy pedal gets the sound of the 1 and 3 very accurately.
What happened with the 2? I assume he designed it, so why doesn't he use it does anyone know?
There is ALWAYS talent in every era of music, you just have to be open to finding and looking for stuff and realise artists like Adele aren't for you and that's fine.
Spotify and YouTube are your friends in this regard.
It didn't have much upwards travel to begin with, so it was more of a hindrance for double bends or if a string broke etc. It was just the regular Suhr trem.
The action and setup seem just fine, I didn't have to mess with that at all and it feels as good as ever to play tbh.
It was floating but never added much benefit in the up-pull and I must say the playability and sustain has increased a bit, or at least it FEELS like it has!
I blocked it by just screwing the trem to the body tighter, so can still divebomb.
Has anyone else had similar results on their Suhr or...
I used one for a gig once last-minute and I was surprised as to how decent it sounded given its reputation. Wouldn't take it over a DSL though obviously, but it was certainly usable and cut through on stage well.
I've played loads of chorus pedals over the years and I must say they're all PRETTY similar in my opinion.
Borrowing a no-name one from a friend at the last minute that I thought would be rubbish, but it's turned out really good!
Great review! How do you know about what gear they were using btw?
I've been a fan since the Nothing re-release and they are just on a different level of heaviness to any other "heavy" band out there. The new album is just amazing!
Even if an independant tech shot a vid taking apart Ed's Marshall piece-by-piece and explaining everything in intricate detail.... we would STILL argue about whether it was modded or not
Obviously back in the day they were used to drive amps harder and get more gain, but now every amp from practice amps, to valve heads, to modelers have heaps of gain on tap.
Obviously a lot of people love EMGs etc... but I just think what are they doing tone-wise, now that amps don't really...
I play in function and wedding bands, cover bands, acoustic duos, solo wedding background music, the occasional sight-reading at a local musical and teaching in the week an schools and privately.
I wouldn't like to say how much; it's not a fortune, but it's a good enough sum to live well...
Seeing as people just want to see him playing guitar and to see HIM then he ticks those boxes. Along with his amazing playing he does robot dancing, nunchuck sections and plays hectic slap bass too, so his shows have variety in that respect.
But yeah, it would be cool to see him with an actual...
