nope, you are thinking about it backwards...you want to connect the wires coming FROM the pickup (modern pickups have a permanently attached set of wires) to the pots/switch/etc
not the wires coming from the electronics to connect to the pickup
does that make sense? I'm having a hard time...
random guess
P = Poles
E = Earth (Ground)
C = Coils
?????
seems like if you need to wire it up you shouldn't have any trouble though, that's a pretty detailed wiring diagram
yeah, that's the thing. I've owned USA made amps, I've owned Chinese made amps.
never had a reliability issue and never once considered either "disposable"
it's just irritating sometimes... :lol: :LOL:
oh well, to each his own I suppose.
Thanks for chiming in guys.
oh christ...for the 100th time, I'm sorry I can't afford gear from obscure boutique builders for $3000+ a pop.
That doesn't make me less of a guitar player.
I don't go into Cameron threads and talk shit.
That isn't directed at you Coopster...just venting.
I agree, it's not nearly as hot sounding or feeling...very "rock" but I've really begun to like a metal sound that begins with lower output pickups.
Just as an example of what I mean - If i remember correctly LoG uses Duncan 59s...pretty low output...into a mark IV.
I know the feeling. My Dimarzio Crunchlab/Liquifire set and my Aldrich bridge has kept me from even CONSIDERING the EMGs again.
I hate to be a snob about it, but I am now. I can't do the EMG thing again.
I can't begin to explain how much better my sound sits in the mix from such a small change...
LOVE my aldrich...it's great for tight bottom and non-icepick highs....but it's voiced pretty vintagey much more so than the EMGs you are used to (I switched from EMGs in the past year or so and haven't looked back).
From what you are saying sounds like the Nailbomb might be more up your alley...
because the market is fucking RIDICULOUS right now.
I don't even understand how 1 year ago 5150s went for 500 and less all day long and now they are going for 700+
what the fucking fuck?
just curious. I haven't heard anything bad like some other "budget" amp manufacturers.
These heads have been on the market for a while now, so I'm hoping any bugs will have been worked out.
thoughts?
specifically the 50w/100w heads...no interest in the 20 watter
