Kind of a dumb question but...how can one solid state amp be louder than the other. I understand they can be two different varied power ranges, but in terms of tone....a solid state amp doesnt need the cranked volume to cook the tubes like a tubeamp would. So I guess i'm just not understanding...
Thats how EJ does it! They tend to work better into a slightly broken up amp vs a clean amp. Through the clean channel they can bit a little harsh, although a cool tone for something different at times as well..

i bought that pickguard setup years back and it was some of the best strat tone i ever had i felt. for whatever reason i sold the guitar, like always. its not the normal strat tone however, a different take on it, but still good, and noiseless.
I had one it was god awful heavy. I quickly downsized from a 10 space to a 6 space rig and now use a shallow gator case. Have had noi problems gigging heavily with it whatsoever
