Are there any decent hardware modules on the market for silent practicing? If Fractal made a pod-esque unit with a small number of amps & basic FX & limited functionality, i'd buy one in a heartbeat. None of the software packages cut it for me.
Word. I considered digging a bit deeper for the Timeline but, like you say, I'm not sure i've got the time to invest in the tweaking either. The El Cap seems to be a pretty deep unit on it's own.
I ordered an ESP standard from Japan once, hot off the press. Went through an online distribution company in Europe which got me an amazing deal, but it took nearly 5 months to arrive. Started forgetting about it towards the end. Coming home to find it waiting for me one day was a cool surprise.
Been around for a long time for sure. Much longer than people give them credit for. Check out Adam Duce T-Shirt! Think I've seen Mike Patton talk about them in their Angel Dust era aswell.

On my 2nd VH4.
On its own it isn't a juicy or particularly distinguishable amp imo. It's pretty dry and unforgiving and really fucking loud. I can see why people aren't immediately blown away by it. Especially when they see the price tag.
It's forte and value is its sonic balance and build...
So just to clarify the above. High output pickups in a bright guitar. Medium output pups in a really dark guitar. Lower output pickups in a really bright guitar. The latter needed taming from the volume pot.
Had aldrich pups in my Suhr. Sounded great and really percussive. Bought a custom 24. Stock pickups were pretty dull and the body didn't really vibrate at all. Switched them out for nail bombs. Guitar sounded better but still really dark in comparison to the suhr.
My mayones has BK jugs. Lower...
I've always wondered the same thing with the TT frets. The fret position changes with the bend. Some of the frets really deviate as well, especially relative to the G string by the looks of things.
I've never really been able to get my VH4 out of 1st gear at home either. Less than 9am on the master.
I switched one out for similar reasons, only to seriously regret my decision down the line.
You might struggle to acquire another blue-face if you let it go.
You might want to look at a...
Cheers y'all.
I traded out my Suhr custom about a year ago in a moment of madness. Had about 10 inquiries a day for it which should've been an early warning. Swapped it for a fairly nice PRS but knew I'd made a poor decision and was pretty bummed out about it. I've really had some good luck...
It's funny. I expected to find a spec sheet with the guitar. No joy.
Today I phoned the guitar shop the guy bought it from to cross reference the serial number on their system and get the order spec. The guy was pretty young and condescending. Turns out they don't keep the serial numbers on...
Thanks fella! Really happy with it. Don't think the guy made the right decision, but I guess that's some karma for all the bad trades I've made in the past! :)
Enjoy your guitar. I like Jeff Kiesel. You can tell he cares about his products. You know it'll be a sharp axe and it'll be like Xmas...
Had my eye on Mayones guitars for a while and couldn't find a way to finance one or find a good trade deal.
Saw this guitar on eBay and a private listing. Seemed to get tonnes of interest but no buyer. Even had a pretty low sale price.
Tried my luck and contacted the seller to see if he was...
I rocked the first XXX for a couple of years. Stock, it wasn't all that, but I did some research at the time when I needed to replace the tubes. A couple of people were saying the JJ E34L tubes were like secret sauce in the XXX. I had to upgrade the amp's resistors as well but it ended up...
