For shits n' giggles, you should look up old and recent pictures of Helloween's Kai Hansen.
Hair coloring is one thing; a hairline getting significantly closer to your eyebrows is next level.
Oh, and Gus G was rippin' !
Nah, it doesn't look like black mold. Besides, there are none of those brown/murky, wavey water-damage spots on the wood.
Most likely the back of the grille plate has been used as an underlayment for spray painting something else black on top of it.
A bit late to the game, but since I got my...
Interesting that you mention both Stained Class (one of my absolute fave Priest albums) and Glenn improving.
My feeling is that he (and maybe KK too, although I always felt KK was the lesser lead player...more brawling, noodling, instead of thought-out, well-phrased leads) improved a few times...
Agreed. PoM has overall a higher number of quality songs throughout than Powerslave.
But...production wise, style-wise, finesse-wise (of where the band was in their 'arc'), I'd recon Powerslave was them at their peak.
And yes, I prefer Clive Burr to Nicko, just like I will die defending Les...
That's what I heard as well (on good headphones). 2nd clip reminded me more of AJFA aggression, while the 1st clip sounded a tad bigger/fuller and nicer to my ears.
So, I was off 1 year on both my new guitar purchases, with almost the same guitar the 1st time like yours!
Got my (still made in Japan) Ibanez S540FM in '97 and in 2009 a Charvel So-Cal Pro Mod.
Like yours, that Ibanez has been my main guitar for a very long time...and aside from some...
There are definitely some bands that peaked after the first 2 or 3:
Lääz Rockit. I mean...Know Your Enemy (album #4) is abso-fuckin-lutely PEAK!
Or Death... I mean, Leprosy is fun and all...but it ain't no Human or Symbolic (#4 and #6)
or...Kreator. Extreme Aggression = #4. Maybe Coma of Souls...
Hmm, I assume you never heard the Priest track 'The Rage' then. :p
Btw, I didn't know the bastard love child of Joey DeMaio and Ann Coulter could drum.
Sure sounds cool tho'! 🤘
#howcanimakethisaboutme incoming 😉: I played the song with my band, supporting James Rivera and I did the 'air...
In front of a clean amp.
If you run it into a Marshall, best make sure it's set clean. Of course, a little break-up (just a smidge...think clean-ish Knopfler when he digs in, but for sure less than the Brothers in Arms intro) helps in making everything come alive, but yeah, definitely DON'T run...
Look, I won't argue that a Bad Monkey in a Fender amp has its place, tone-wise, but surely -with your experience 😊 - putting a Rat into some clean amp hardly sounds the same to you as playing a nice modded/hotrodded Marshall, right? And this is where a good amp-like pedal delivers.
I myself am...
That's mostly my point too...Together with the fact that you can't replace the tone of the BE-OD Deluxe by just grabbing two not-ideal low and medium drive pedals. Even if you pick really good ones (unlike ahum.. the Rat and the TS9)...
I mean, sure, a Boss OD-3 and a Zoom HL-01 Hyper Lead...
I haven't tried the Suhr Eclipse, but one thing that makes the BE-OD Deluxe more interesting over that one, are the additional Presence and Tight controls, per channel!
When I run a BE-OD Deluxe into some Fender amps, I have to up the mids more, dial back the bass a lot, to get it to where I...
@phillybhatesme did you also change the internal trim pots' position to lower the gain of Channel 1? I feel this helps it even more, and there's still plenty of gain left for classic heavy metal tones on that channel, but then the lower part of the gain knob's travel can do really nice crunch...
Somehow, 'Rod' should be part of the name as well. And his Turbo Lover co-star Dick 'Stache...
at the time, probably fond of little Traci L, also went up a different path. \:D/
Judging from your comment, you've never played the BE-OD Deluxe.
@griff10672 please back me up on this, as a fellow pedal builder.
I've built and modded various pedals myself, including TS-ones and built a Thermionic Deluxe, WHILE owning an original Friedman BE-OD Deluxe.
A Rat is a gritty...
