Did a cover of Castles in the Air. Pain in the ass to program the drums by ear, but yeah it sounds close enough.
Left the quiet vocals in there because I don't have a Strymon Big Sky to do that pad sound they do in the quiet part.

I have a 2 channel Mesa Dual Recto that I'm thinking of sending to Mesa for maintenance and modding to pre-500 specs.
Just a little back-story about this particular amp. I bought it a few years ago and it was messed with. The pots were not original and I'm not sure what else was changed in it...
Have any of you guys encountered this?
I installed WoS 4.2.6 AAX on my MacBook Pro running High Sierra 10.13.4
The installation goes fine but then when I go to launch it, the GUI doesn't show up at all only the Pro Tools plugin container.
I checked the security settings and installation is set...
GrooveHT was kind enough to send me his old gen 1 Axe FX Standard to mess with. Yes I know the Gen 2 is a lot better and comparing it to my Kemper is not exactly a fair comparison but either way, here are my initial impressions:
It's really nice. Some stuff is a bit better than the kemper...
I bought this plugin a few days ago and it's been pretty cool to fiddle with. Here's a solo part from a song I'm messing around with. The solo is a rough idea I'm still working through so yeah... clams galore.
Signal chain
Kiesel vm7 -> countryman type 85 di box split for monitoring with Kemper...
Ok guys so I had this guitar for about a week now and I figured I'd post my thoughts on it after the initial giddiness wore off.
Specs:
Ash wings - Antique Ash finish
Maple 5-pc neck with Black Limba stripes - Tung Oil finish
Zebrawood fretboard
SS frets
Lithium pickups - Duncan Pegasus/Sentient...
Completely different guitars so it's not a scientific test by any means... But it'll give you an idea of what the new Kiesel pups sound like compared to something more familiar.

Nope it's not some boutique fancy ass amp... It's a cheap old 5150... Not even the Block Letter.
Guess what! It fucking rocks! But you guys already knew that!
I'm sure some of you guys will get all uppity about all this. But meh... I couldn't care less.
Here goes...
I got this PRS Archon. I just opened it up and it's entirely PTP-wired. So if PRS can make a PTP amp, that's 100 Watts and sounds awesome for under $2k new, why can't other manufacturers...
A little clean and crunch for you guys.

Got me a PRS Archon yesterday from nothingeined. Great transaction and a great seller by the way.
Interesting amp (in a good way). I've only had about 30-40 minutes with it, so I'm still finding different tones. But the first impression is as follows:
1-Total sleeper amp - Built like a brick...
Ok...
Another profile. Mark V25 on the Mark IV setting. Everything is the same.
But this time, I recorded the tracks at the same time.
Now, I spliced them together and they alternate at the cross-fades.
Can you spot which is which? If you can, your ears are WAYYY better than mine because I...
So folks always ask if the Kemper sounds like the real amp.
As I was profiling the Mark V25 yesterday, I decided to just hit record on a D chord. The reason for just a D chord is there's nothing to distract the listener from playing dynamics or other subtleties. The levels are close enough...
