Thanks. It came biased a bit hotter than that. I cut it up to about 43,44 or so. I've biased it back down to about 36-38 which is how it came. The amp has amazing potential. It is very different than any Marshall I've ever owned. Get this, the two imputs are actually very usable. Most of...
Man, I'm having a hard time dialing this thing in. One minute I think it is the best amp made, the next I can't dial in what I want. Like many Marshalls, it likes medium to high output humbukers much better than single coils. My question is: Has anyone gone on the back and adjusted the...
My JCM800 2203x really lacks gain. When I use an OCD or lately a Rockbox Boiling point the amp comes alive and is very dynamic. I do like the EL34s. I'm thinking the AFD in the non AFD voicing will embrace pedals well. Then, I can use the AFD voicing for the gain tones. I didn't realize...
OK, I've been checking out every clip from the early ones done by Slash to the early ones done by the southpaw player Marshall parades out to the ones by new owners who just got the amp. The amp rocks. I'm no Slash fan and can't stand G&R mainly due to the singer's voice. The amp is probably...
I always thought I'd go for the 60 because I'm not concerned about headroom. I figured if I have to cut the 60 up more, I'll get more drive. Then, a sales guy for them told me the 120 is the way to go. Bob Savage, help me out here. Anyone else with one, help me out here. Also, do you all...
Is this thing worth the Klon like price $349? I like the clips I've heard but man is that a lot to pay for a pedal. I'm considering maybe a Rothwell Hellbender or a Boiling Point.
Or, maybe I need to sell it to one of my RT friends who likes those kinds of tones or has a brighter amp like a Splawn or Marshall. thanks for the opinion
I have an anniversary 412 which comes with celestion H12 30 watt speakers. My problem with this cab is that it is so very dark sounding. I was wondering if it was due to the H30 celestion 30 watt speakers or the 18 ply cabinet built like a tank. This cab is dark my friends. I'm almost...
Get this, this suprised me. A few years ago I saw Dio, Deep Purple and Scorpions. Doug handled the old Rainbow stuff beter than the Dio/Sabbath years stuff. The Dio stuff was great too. He sounded great on songs like Children of the Sea etc., but he killed Man on the Silver Mountain & Long...
What are you up to these days Kage? Haven't seen you in a while. Me, I'm counseling people who are on probation trying to help them get clean and sober. I remember when Shenker's first solo LP came out. Victims of Illusion, Armed and Ready. The next one also had Gary Barden. Then, Graham...
I'm saved. Sorry that happened to you over there. I don't go there much at all. Last time I was on there the maturity level wasn't what I was looking for. The gear page and rig talk are much beter. If you don't like a particulare piece of gear over there people get all upset like your...
I saw where Robin is using Marshall Vintage Modern amps. I really wanted to like those amps. I've given them demo after demo and can't seem to get em right. Trower plays with lots of volume. Maybe that will make the difference with these amps. Trower could make a fender champ sound huge.
What did you mean by "big Invader let down" Of the Engl amps the Invader and Fireball are the two I really like. My bro has the 60 watt Fireball. It sounds very good.
gibson classic 57 +/57 is just right in my standards.
I have Suhr Aldrich in a custom and they are OK. I'd like to try some Rio BBQ in that custom though.
I'd like to try the Godwoods as well.
I had the BB2&3 in a non reverse firebird. The BB3 was pretty good. The 2 was great in the neck...
