Soldano 20 watt - new amp

I've gone through the demos from the usual suspects, and it's a really interesting, modern sounding amp (which is exactly what Mike was going for). But it's clearly different from my SLO-30. I didn't hear a single demo get the SLO sound out of the Astro 20. I like that. Once the hype dies down...

Pickup recommendations for my PRS SC250

For high output, I can really recommend the Suhr Aldrich & PRS Tremonti bridge pickups. They are hot, but they don't feel too compressed. I mean, listen to Mark's tone and you'll know how good the T's sound!

Pickup recommendations for my PRS SC250

I've owned about 35 PRS Singlecuts over the years, and the only stock pickups I couldn't stand were the #6/#7s (6s are just uncovered 7s, and they came most often in the SC Trem models). I replaced the pickups in every guitar that came with those. It's a wonder that PRS used those terrible...

    How Old are Ya Guys?

Heinz 57 here. Dang, I still can't believe Dan is gone. I have only been popping in here now and then (for the past few years), but I was a regular poster here for many years. Looks like this place is still humming along with crazies of all sorts. Glad to see it's still going.

Pickup recommendations for my PRS SC250

Interestingly, had the OP actually had an SC250, his stock bridge pickup would have been a Tremonti, and he probably wouldn't have had to go on this pickup search. (The SC250 bridge is a Tremonti bridge). I think the Tremonti is one of the great high output bridge pickups made, and it sounds...

Best High Gain Amp to Complement the Friedman BE100 Deluxe?

I vote for Diezel to compliment the Friedman BE 100. I just got a D-Moll head, and it is incredible and offers really unique sounds, both high gain and cleans. I understand why some people would recommend a Mark series amp, and it would give you options. However, I think the Diezel tones are...

    Diezel D-Moll versatility

Sorry to revive a necro thread, but I have to thank Mo for his write up. I had been recently looking to buy another Diezel, and I figured I would repurchase a Herbert. It was my favorite of all the Diezels I had played, but I never found my Herbert tremendously versatile. It has amazing modern...

Synergy module recommendation for heavy metal rhythm

The Pittbull sounds huge and has TONS of tweakability.

Anyone still rocking a Egnater Seminar head?

I built one about 15 years ago in one of Bruce's classes. Sold it a few years back during a big purge because it was a single channel and not gig friendly for me. I do regret losing it.

How Woke People Evolved To Be Superior

I went back to your original post to quote your phrase, and I see you have already deleted the worst parts of it. Smooth move - make racist comments, get a reaction, and then delete them. You mentioned leftists at Columbia Univ in NYC (a widely used, barely concealed phrase for Jews), and then...

How Woke People Evolved To Be Superior

Sorry for the delay in responding. Been vacationing the past few days. If you are actually Jewish, I find it incredulous to see you using such oft-repeated anti-Semitic phrases. Seriously - the lines you used are almost verbatim from the KKK and other white nationalists' handbook. Check it out.

How Woke People Evolved To Be Superior

You make some great points. Jim Crow laws extended the suffering of Black people in the US for another 100 years. But its silly not to recognize the progress that has been made, especially in the past 50 years. One of the biggest mistakes the far left makes is pretending nothing is getting...

How Woke People Evolved To Be Superior

Wow. Every claim you made is incorrect. You stopped just sort of blaming the Jews for all of America's ills. Woke, as the term is used today, is so vague as to be meaningless. It's like "liberal" or "conservative". Those terms used to be well defined, but now their meanings shift rather...

ongoing another horrible exchange with fatbagg

That was the pedal builder's TGP screen name and the name he used for business.

ongoing another horrible exchange with fatbagg

This blows. It reminds me of that thieving piece of shit pedal guy on TGP, This1smyne, who stole money from people for years. People came out of the woodwork to defend him. Others continue to buy his premade pedals, even though his thievery has been documented by many members.

    BFG Amps

I had one of his modded Jet City 20w amps. It ripped! The other guitarist in my band hounded me for 2 years to sell it to him, and I finally gave in.

can i connect my engl e530 preamp to a PA monitor?

Great advice here. I gigged a 530 for a little while about 15 years ago (until I upgraded to the 570 SE pre), and I found it needed a warm tube power amp to tame some of the top end sizzle and give it some low end punch. I wouldn't have wanted to run it straight into the board, but that was in...

PRS into a Dual & Mini Rectifier (the 'nu metal' sound)

Beautiful SC58! I had a Stripped 58 for several years, and it was a great one, too. I prefer the bigger necks on these. Congrats on scoring such a fine axe! Nice tones on your video. The 57/08s are very versatile pickups, as I'm sure you've already figured out. The do low gain stuff well, too.

    UPS broke a 2:90 I shipped.

I hate to say it, but UPS probably won't pay on the claim. They have an exclusion clause in their insurance for electronics. It's complete BS, because they accept your money when you buy the insurance, but then you get nothing. Sorry this happened to you, OP.
