The JVM 100watt and 50watt heads sag a lot when cranked hard, so i can't see a 1watt JVM sounding all that good

My thoughts as well. With the amount of gain or using a boost I can get stupid good tones at tv levels all day so I do not understand a 1 watt JVM. The JVM only goes so far stock and starts to peak out and yeah lots of sag.

I would rather own a good modeller than a power starved one watt amp....

these have the TGP crowd written all over them...

my mark V does bedroom friendly tones in it's low watt mode anyways..and it still sounds somewhat anemic unless you gas it IMHO

Looks like these would be more for the collector than the player?

Have never recorded with a low wattage amp is there that big of a difference between cranked low watter compared to a 100w amp turned up just loud enough?

Marshall's Lame Attempt to Cash in on the low wattage craze

Yeah looks like it.

But that JCM might sound ruthless all broken up.

theres so many modded EVJ out there that can can put
those silly little "toys for collectors" to shame

doubt they can even come close to my EVJ that has the "rockstah"
mod

Marshall is  clueless at this point - they have no game plan. Not to mention their great strategic move to build their
amps in china

No Thank You

A 100 watt amp, turned up just enough, is not.... enough. No way your gonna get the true character, without turning up.6+ in volumes where tube amps live, the tone anyway.
I had mentioned Blackheart earlier cause I can dime my 5 watter. does it sound like a 100 watter? No. Sounds like a dimed 5 watter.(a good thing, Zep #1, but no Marshall!)
Tube or not these are toys. they will sound like 1 watt tube amps do. Nothing inside will be related to the originals. Simulations of tone flavor here and cosmetics.... we thought the 100 watt 900 sounded buzzy! Lol...

I'm gonna get one and send it directly to Mike for a full nitrous-boost

Why do you state where you got the info at Tom???

Cross forum posting is a sport

Why these new Marshall amps look cool and all, they do not appear to be very practical. If they are really going for over $500, than I would rather have this rock block. At least you can use the rock block as a distortion pedal for your main amp if it doesn't work out as a 1Watt practice/recording amp.

I'd buy them at $500. I only paid $800 for my JVM210 in pristine condish on the 'bay.

If they are 1 watt, they must have a single (EL84?) output tube, seems it would sound very different from its EL34 family tree...
I still want one of each

I figured they would use a 12AX7 as an output tube. I think that is how the blackstar HT-1 is doing it.

12AU7 for the power amp .

:)

When is Marshall going to get their act together? This is the big funking announcement I've been waiting for?

This almost comes across like a joke :aww:

Sad thing is (or good) I've got a 1 watt Blackheart Killer Ant and I really like it. Great cranked up tone going. 2 - 12AX7s I believe and no ss/op amps and cheap.

sorry if this is getting off topic but that pedal looks freakin sweet. I want one.

but im new with the pedal world, I have an 808 for a boost. Could this "distortion" pedal be used as a boost?

Maybe they'll come out with an attenuator for them as well...

Let me guess. A $700 Attenuator with crappy pots that sounds thin at low volumes

v....ish. The tone on the 410H sounds artificial to me at low volumes :aww:

Very true. Those JVMs don't have an issue sounding good at low bedroom volumes.

I assume you could use it as a boost, not sure though. I would like a rock block too, love the fact that it can have 2 uses....

For Class 5 prices I'd be all over them. For $600+ ....ehhh.....
